I think that's nice "to everyone here gathered"!

What I like about showpiece blocks is that they are very versatile where you put them into your collection.

The centre stamp has excellent context all round, and that guide line.

You can see the alignment problems / challenges that perforation will bring -
BE to BF - wide margin
CE to CF - narrow margin

... and that's before we even touch on rarity.

Seems like a very good acquisition - Hope you enjoy it for years.

.... and, if I get bored with the lack of top and right margins, I can always get the scissors out, create a "100J" from BF and send it to PSE and then sell it for £000's.

As one of Americas smallest issued stamps (at 17x20mm), a block of 40 fitted nicely on this letter:

Started scanning my blocks of India. Here is a used 12 x 2 Rs KGVI (1937-40) block with SERVICE overprint. I believe the cancel is RAILGANJ (Kanpur Nagar, Uttar Pradesh), 20 DEC 45.

Will post others in the days to come...

Now, here is a block of eight 1 Rupee (SGO 138).

Struggled for a while to figure out the cancellation on this one, but in the end, retroreveal was able to reveal enough information to determine that it was JUBBULPORE FACTORY / 18 FEB 46.

Now known as Jabalpur, Jubbulpore was the official spelling until 2006. It is one of the major cities of Madhya Pradesh, India.

The Railgañj SPO (est. 1891), Kanpur postmark on Br. India 1938 2R SG O139 is actually a non-postal telegraph cancel.

There are stray examples of this type being used postally on stamps of lower denominations but never on R values.

This screwhead type telegraph datestamp was introduced in 1914 to all Head POs and selected Sub POs with combined telegraph office.

The ds type is illustrated and listed as Catalog No. 12 in "Pricelist of Stamps and Seals Class E: Stamps Used in Head and Sub Post Offices" in Postal Workshop Stamp Book (Catalogue) 1923, published by the Superintendent, Postal Workshop, Aligarh.

The correct name Jabalpur was officially reverted way back in 1947, not in 2006.

Here is an example of the correct spelling of Jabalpur used in datestamp in 1958.

It was on Dec 16,2006 when the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation unanimously passed a resolution to rename the city to Jabalipuram but that was never done because of the bureaucratic red tape. :(

1 d. red-brown on lightly blued paper, Plate 80,
lettered MA-ML/NA-NL, a used block of twenty-four and
OA-OL/RA-RL in a used block of forty-eight
forming a complete block of seventy-two, originally used on piece of brown parcel paper which has now been removed

Each stamp cancelled by '101' numeral obliterator of Ixworth.
Various faults including a a few small tears and creases but without doubt the largest used multiple of the issue: this multiple would have paid a rate of 36 ounces (2lb. 4oz).

Some used Australia decimal blocks of interest from my modest collection:
Image
Australia stamp 1981 18c Christmas Bush used block of six
Image
Australia stamp 1973 Definitive Marine Life 2c Fiddler Crab used block of four
Can anyone help deciphering the cds on above please - i.e. what date is it?

Image
Australia stamp 1973 7c Famous Australians used block of four
Notice that the date on above seems to be 16 May 1973, which would be first day of issue, but the cancel doesn't say it?

Image
Australia stamp 2001 Centenary of Federation se tenant pair/gutter pair
Thought this was interesting in that it is both simultaneously a used se-tenant pair and gutter pair?

South Africa 1942 4d "BANTAM" WW2 Emergency stamp issue, Unique size used block of 45!
Bought a few of these from someone who got parcels in WW2 ex RSA. Not just bilingual pairs - but in the even scarcer WW2 economy idea of Triptych. A normal size perforated stamp size, that stamp area rouletted into THREE stamps!

Could they have used high values? Of course, but clearly they did not.  105% commercial use.

Seems like a strange use for 15/- franking, when 5/- and 10/- values were on hand, at South Africa POs.

The large Field Gun/Cannon design - SG 103 x 15 = £165 ($A330) for normal triptychs!

Very likely the record size postal used franking. The hasty cds use from "JOHANNESBURG - 5 DEC 45" points to clear commercial use. And was commercial WW2 mail for sure, as the Estate had similar big blocks of other values.

Few little blemishes as expected from a very heavy parcel, mailed 10,000 miles, 75 years ago, but doubtless a UNIQUE postally used block. Perfect album page, or Hagner page size for display. Listed up cheaply today - stock 352JK

This one of my favorite threads on SB, which I would like to help keep active, so here are used blocks I recently acquired in a larger lot. Cheap items, but I think they looks lovely...I don't think the 20c is CTO (the 30c obviously isn't with the Osaka receiver)... Can anyone confirm?
