Here's one.. US 24c 1861 issue, Scott 78b, Gray shade on cover to England. Stamp actually is paying a double rate as this is an 1868 use and the rate was halved from 1'/24c to 6d/12c per 1/2 ounce.

Another 3 cent 1851 on cover, this ones tied by a centered, of not well struck CDS of Londonderry, Vermont in green ink. Stamp appears to be a brownish carmine shade and is Scott #11 (type 1).

Well done Kevin .. some great images saved above. :)

Added this amazing 1903 Coronation Dunbar piece to stock today (285YW) The full QV Definitive set on sale at the time, right up to 5 Rupee "Empress Of India" super top value bi-colour, and the bight matching 2R and 3 Rupee bi-colour values.

Astoundingly fresh condition for 115 years old as you can see.

Was in Northern Europe most of its life. Had it been in India over that long period, it would of course be STUFFED by now. Clean and fresh, and the stamps so bright and unrubbed you'd think they were printed last week! SG Cat of these stamps USED is £120.

A "VIP" type Presentation piece or somesuch I suspect, and show me ANOTHER! This 1903 Durbar was arranged by Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of India, and VIP type goodies would not surprise me one bit.

Was scanning this up for stock today at $A40 (Stock 782PQ) and noticed the cancel was a BEAUTY!
Image

Australia 1940 stamped 2d KGVI Lettercard SUPERB Condition and MAGIC cds strike of “BUNDANOON”.
What a GEM. A scarce Lettercard anyway, perf 13½ on grey, and retail easily $40 in the usually found rough grade. Here was have a son writing to Mum, saying he does not need any more cash – at present!

War-Time domestic use with a MAGNIFICENT upright strike of the Southern Highlands town of “BUNDANOON - 6 FE – 40 – NSW.”

Now 78 years old, and freshness you cannot be believed for that age. :)

Added these gems to stock today and listed up here for the pictorial Socked On The Nose record, as they will not hang about for long methinks. :)

Lord Howe Island, magic matched cancels, on set 11 x 1913 Roos!: After 40 years as a dealer, there are not many Roo things I have NEVER seen - in either in person, or in auctions etc, but this is one! 1913 First Watermark Kangaroos, complete set 11 to 1/- all with superbly struck matched strikes of the NSW era Barred cancel, with L.H.I. in centre, and not the usual NSW numeral.

Remote LHI always had a tiny population, and cancels and covers from there always had have a cult following. The legendary Postmaster manuscript provisionals - SG 118a are cat £750 and £1,700 mint or used EACH, and on cover even more, bearing the cds seen here.

For an attractive and doubtless UNIQUE set of 12 cancels, this price will see them sell fast! Owner got a Ceremuga Photo Certificate for the top 5 values, who notes that the cancels are genuine, and stamps have no faults. Clean and fresh and bright and attractive and free of hinges and gunk etc. The ebay forger has been active on LHI cancels in recent years, so the cert is VERY wise. Spectacular eye-appeal. A SINGLE of any of these is a $50 to $100 piece in isolation, all day long. (Stock 398QR)

Stokerau Bahnof - Austria
Image

Nice !

This almost complete cancellation is Mueller number 2723 RD-f I (6). Double circle, town name in roman capitals, on issue I, valued 6 points (on a scale from 1-250 where 250 is the rarest) without a popularity index.
In the Handbook of Edwin Mueller this cancel is shown in plate 11 as example of the RD-f type.
First known use 1849. Now Stockerau.

p. 136 Mueller Handbook of Austria (1961)
p. 166 Mueller pre-stamp postmarks of Austria (1960)
