The great thing is about any variety that is on an FDC, is there is no possibility it is a surface scratch etc as can occur on postally used copies.

Australia 1967 5¢ Blue QEII *DOUBLE PERFS*!: Margin to margin Mint strip of 20, with columns 3 to 10 all showing striking “Double Perforation”. ACSC says believed to be the result of a weird attempt by Stamp Printer to correct sheets which showed some columns imperforate. Only ONE sheet was found thus according to ACSC, and thus is likely the largest multiple surviving after 53 years as broken down now. (The ACSC photo is only a block 4.) ACSC 444bc, cat AU$1,200++ in the ancient 2002 last Decimal catalogue. Even on the ½d and 1d Kangaroos Double perfs, of which MANY exist, ACSC is $A600 and $A500 a SINGLE respectively, so this is wildly under-catalogued. NEVER seen another. Surely be a $2,500 piece, if that Edition was updated. Such repairs were the normal in the States and Roos period way over a Century back, BUT in the Australian decimal era, totally unheard of, except for this one example. $A800 (Stock 7923LA)
Philip, I wish I was able to use the Wiki - 1913 Australian 1d Kangaroo And Map Stamps with all you have posted there but my Roo's are limited and it's a matter of a few needles and a big haystack
The material posted here is almost as distant as one can get from my main interest yet I enjoy browsing this thread too!
Appreciated Kainnikanada!Kainnikanada wrote: ↑21 Jul 2020 05:13The material posted here is almost as distant as one can get from my main interest yet I enjoy browsing this thread too!
Both of you: continue to post!
Row 1 No. 7. Recut frame left of "UST" (not visible)
Row 1 No. 9. Recut lower left frame (considerable imagination required)
Thank you Philip.Row 3 No. 3. Recut lower left frame (one for the imagination)

Aren't there different states to these flaws and recuts etc?
Yes, a number of states with a number of them (as it should be with wear)Kainnikanada wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020 16:14Aren't there different states to these flaws and recuts etc?
I've seen a couple of BSAP monographs that do not list all states of flaws - not necessarily the the detail one wishes to see. Keeps one looking and guessing.
What do you think Kainnikanada? like with the KG Vs, a number of flaws continue to evolve.Kainnikanada wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020 16:14Aren't there different states to these flaws and recuts etc?
