Sorry to ask, and it has probably been mentioned before but I couldn't find it. Is there a centralized list where everyone's individual entries are gathered so that there is a unified list without duplicates? I would like to add what I have in my library but before I do that I would like to make sure I am not duplicating efforts.

Maybe, at a `guesstimate`, around 450 to 500 that would fill 5 bookcases and range from the 1890`s to 2015! Everything ranging from good Reference Books through to rather mundane `extracts` from other publications and hand-written `notes` by previous collectors. Not the largest by far. Remember an Auctioneer in South London some 20 years ago who had over 2000 books and catalogues filling a complete wall in his office!

From Russia with Love....the set of 3 Zagorsky catalogs, vols 1 (1857-1963) and 3 (1992-2015) are 2016 editions, vol 2 (1966-1991) is 2014 edition.

Hi Luke, I dont think this is supposed to be a unified list. The original poster just seemed to be interested to know what catalogues other collectors possess.

There are of course duplications but I think the benefit of the thread is finding out about catalogues that one didn't even know existed!

I find, for example, DJCMH's contributions interesting because I also love specialist catalogues.

Only two of those were brought new the rest were secondhand. I'm intrigued in the lists above why so many people keep old runs of catalogues - in most cases (not all) the quality of print and information has improved over the years so why hang on to old catalogues with blurry black and white photos?

Interesting catalog. Covers definitive issues only from 1871 to 1946 in detail, as well as Offices in China and Korea, and Military Franchise stamps.

Commemoratives not in this volume must be in a separate volume to come.

Mostly in Japanese, and while some info can be deduced via logical guessing (different perf types, shades (the name of which are given in both Japanese and English)) there lots of info here that I will probably need to ask my Japanophone friends for help with.

Still, over 200 pages, all for a little over US$30 with shipping, not a bad addition to the library!

With Yvert releasing the 2017 edition of their Colonies catalog, decided to pick a copy up as well as the 2-part post-independence Francophonie nations catalogs

Couple of notes

1) As someone who has used Maury for the French colonies, the Yvert catalog seems to be, well, lacking. It's like the difference between a tricycle with training wheels (Yvert) vs a high performance bicycle for use in the Velodromes (Maury). But as Maury is irregularly produced, it is less common in francophone dealer listings, which tend to use Yvert numbers for ID purposes.

2) Amazing to think that while the French colonial period for all these former colonies fit in one convenient (and smaller-page size) catalog for 2017, the same countries (for the most part) post-independence issues require 2 volumes (on much larger pages) and this does not include the last 3-4 years of new issues.

Received this yesterday, Michel's catalogue for global Automatic/Computer Vended postage stamps 2013 edition

flipped through it last night, and felt like I was exploring a whole new world of collecting I knew little about. (Scott only lists the USA issues, and Gibbons only mentions these stamps as footnotes, and most of my Michel worldwide catalogs end around 2003, so a big gap filled here in my knowledge base!)

Definitely a great addition to my library that was sorely needed.

The Cancellations of Melbourne 1861 - 1921 by Davies & Linfield is a very handy resource if you collect or are interested in this area.

There is also an article by Max Melville on rating the cancellations of Melbourne 1895-1899 that I have. Does anyone know where or when this article first appeared?

İsfila Ottoman Empire and Turkey Specialized Catalog, 2021-2022 edition

Earlier this week I received my 2021-2022 edition of the İsfila catalog, replacing my 2014 edition. Ordered from Istanbul three weeks ago, shipping was by UPS but given crazy holiday shipping levels, took three weeks to get here.

Also have the new 2019-2020 Mundifil (the Old Afinsa) Portugal and Portuguese Catalogs in the shipping network on their way from Lisbon, to replace by older editions of those two.

Updated Portugal and Colonies catalogs from my rather ancient pre-bankruptcy Afinsa editions to shiny new Mundifil ones. Mundifil have done an excellent job in not just salvaging the catalogs from the Afinsa debacle, but expanding and improving the content. Anyone collecting Portugal and/or Colonies will find these almost essential.
