Belti,

Thank you for adding women and volcanos to my thread. I hope you do not try to imply they have anything in common (except both of them are beautiful).

Information on King George V Halfpenny stamp issued in Australia.
Note:

The preceding link is to a copy of the original 1959 (First edition).

The checklist was reissued as a Second edition 1992 and a further Third edition was released in 1995.

The latest one tidies up previous editions and has significant revisions (new format), renumbers several of the Electros and has new illustrations.

Kannikanada,

Thank you for posting Australian 1 penny and 4 penny KGV to my catalogue thread. These are great resource for anyone intrested in specialist level information on Australian KGV stamps without access to specialized catalogues (I suppose these go beyond specialized catalogue).
Please make any comments you have to this thread. I saw your comment on ½ penny and ammended that post. Do you know if the updated versions are available somewhere free online?

Kannikanada,

I did some formating of your posts to make their format uniform with other posts. Please check I didn't make there any mistakes. Also, I marked for 1d KGV years 1914-29. I hope that is correct. If not, feel free to change them during your 1 hour window or ask me to change them if that window has closed.

By moving my comments regarding the currency of the ½d checklist to this thread any user of the link supplied in other thread could end up making a bonehead statement in their collection or on the Stampboards' site if they base their information on a 55 year old publication that is no longer valid.

As this thread grows in length no one will trawl through here to see if the links are pertinent but they will blindly use the posted link.

Kimmo,

I'm not aware of any sources of the current edition.

Later, I hope to approach the BSAP Bulletin editor to obtain permission to post the most current edition of the publication on Stampboards as well.

I believe both authors are deceased; copyright could be held by BSAP.

Scanning & correcting/editing these old checklists, such as I did for the "Fourpence", is quite a chore.

Kannikanada,

I think I included the relevant information to the post. If you think more is needed, I'll be happy to comply. I do not claim to be any author on this topic. Just post your recommendation of exact wording here and I'll edit the post.

Even if the post would have been left in the catalogue thread, it would have been likely to pass unnoticed when the thread grows as people are likely to mostly access the posts through index and not through browsing.

Please keep your feedback coming and I try to do my best in editing the information.

I do agree that some of the information on this thread is out of date. However, if it is only information available, it is better than nothing. Also, sometimes people want to access old catalogues for reference. They sometimes have better illustrations and other data that has been later lost. So, with fair warning I believe it is still useful for some people.

Good to know. Then the 1 hour window for correcting any mistakes I may have done in formating your posts doesn't apply to you. However, when it comes to editing others posts I prefer to do it myself, even when doing it word by word according to what someone else says. That way I know what is going on and can intervean (rarely) if needed.

Kimmo,

I was using the index a bit so I made some updates to the index. There haven't been a lot of new entries lately so it should be easy to catch up with the index. There are still around 70 entries to index. Many of them are thematic - you should decide if you want to subdivide the Topical heading at all. I added a new category under GB for former colonies.

Thank you, Jean!

I have been lately very busy, and that will continue still at least some time. I appreciate greatly your help. When I have time I must take care of the index. With current speed of additions I should be able to handle index once I have got it up to date. I think from now on most of the entries will be from me, and I plan to put them in one per day. I have still plenty of them waiting. Mostly old catalogues.

Russia and general Former Soviet Union
• Stamps of USSR 1923-1991 and Former Soviet Union 1990-current

Hi Michael,

I've moved your post to the Discussion thread for the Free internet stamp catalogues.

Regarding your question - on the page that you are directed to by the link in the post, you will see USSR in the list of links on the left - clicking on that will take you to the USSR issues 1923-1991 (the default display is 1991 but the years are all listed on the left)

MichaelTravis,

You can find the listing of USSR from the left hand side navigation bar further down. It takes some searching. Sometimes the pages the links lead are not as clear as one wishes. Unfortunately I cannot help that.

Thank you for reporting this apparent error. I apreciate the reports as the useability of this thread depends on people reporting any error they encounter.

Agheshi,

Thank you for adding Colnect to my catalogue thread. Everyone's help is appreciated and needed.

I thought it was already there but based on index it is not yet there, so a nice addition. When I'll later work with the index adding more entries there I will see if it was there unindexed. I will remove duplicates I will find. I hope you understand that should your entry happen to be a duplicate one.
