“Post Horn” – Magazine of International Postal History …

I would kindly like to present to the friends of this Forum, another new Italian semi-annual magazine published last year 2019, texts in English, high quality magazine worthy of rightfully entering a reputable philatelic library.

https://www.posthornmagazine.com/

After the 00 test issue presented at “Milanofil 2019” and shortly after – officially – at “Stockholmia 2019”, Executive Editor Publisher Claudio Ernesto Manzati was given the privilege of launching the 01 issue at Montecarlo during the AEP (Académie Européenne de Philatélie) general meeting as part of the program organised by AIJP, l’Association Internationale des Journalistes Philatéliques.
The Spring-Summer edition of Post Horn Magazine (issue 02) features a selection of interesting articles written by internationally acclaimed authors and collectors who present them with a wealth of often-times previously unpublished information and eye-catching illustrations with the ‘magic touch’ of a pleasant lay-out and strategic placement of text and illustrations.

Following is the content of issue no. 02 (Spring-Summer edition 2020):

• Editorial by Giorgio Migliavacca
• Haiti, stories of an Italian missionary and a Scottish merchant – Federico Borromeo d’Adda
• June 24, 1859 The battle of Solferino and San Martino – Piero Bartoloni & Rocco Cassandri
• The “Gronchi rosa” and the Amazonian triangle – Roberto Quondamatteo
• Iran Soviet Socialist Republic 1920 – 1921 and the Treaty of Turkmenchai 1828 Mirza Kuckek Khan and the Jungalists. The Gilan Revolution. Bjorn Sohrne & Giorgio Migliavacca
• Was the Free Territory of Trieste really free? Postal history helps to understand the importance of peace in the world. – Thomas Mathà
• Dumont d’Urville Helps Reveal Antarctica – Serge Kahn
• Travel from Trieste to Bombay via Alessandria and Suez – Lorenzo Carra
• “LA BOLGETTA – MAIL BAG” – Anthony Virvidis

The number 04/2021 (Spring-Summer 2021) of the semi-annual "POST HORN", Magazine of International Postal History (108 pages) has just been sent to subscribers, headed by Dr. Claudio E. Manzati, published by the "CIFO" Association of Italian Collectors of Ordinary Stamps.

As I have already had the opportunity to write, the magazine is very well done, the use of new techniques, digital printing technologies and the total application of color for the images, have given a very captivating "charm" to this magazine.

From the index of this issue ...

- Editorial: “Team work wins AEP award” by Claudio E. Manzati.
- 1837/1880 Intercontinental shipping routes for Australia & New Zealand, from sailing around the continents to
Overland mails (Part II), by Klaus Weis.
- What to do with pre-philatelic letters? A wiew from the Austrian side, by Hubert Jungwirth.
- Mucha's woman in philately, by Roberto Quondamatteo.
- The importance of the post in times of crisis…, by Gerhard Mitterer.
- “La Bolgetta” Mail Bag, books review by Giorgio Migliavacca.
- The discreet charme of postal history.
