Franco,

Could you pass on a message to the owner of the so called Niger Coast 1s. missing overprint that it is not a missing overprint. It is a Plate Proof Colour Trial,

His description

Niger Coast Protectorate 1894, Release of Oil Rivers 1Sh without overprint NIGER COAST, there are only a few pieces, this corner is UNIQUE!Niger Coast Protectorate 1894, Release of Oil Rivers 1Sh without overprint NIGER COAST, there are only a few pieces, this corner is UNIQUE!

I should have said

MISSING ENGRAVING ON PLATE instead of MISSING OVERPRINT.

The issued stamp does not exist without the missing engraving.

Here is my example from the lower right of the Plate.

Dear Mr. David Benson,

unfortunately I don't have the pleasure of meeting the collector who exhibited this stamp.

So I can't communicate your notes to him refer Niger Coast Protectorate 1894, Release of Oil Rivers 1Sh without overprint NIGER COAST.

If you want, write directly to the "Prestige Philately Club, Prague" to report this situation.

Friendliness !

Franco
