While searching for the first engraver of Victoria's handstamps, I came across the following:
Guide to the Records of the Post Office Archives (as filmed by the AJCP)
Van Diemen's Land 1841 to 1846
N.S.W. (including Port Phillip) 1842 to 1845
S.A. 1842 to 1847
N.Z. 1844 to 1846
W.A. 1844 to 1847
Also a whole heap of other reports, letters, archival material back to 1828, etc.
A wealth of early information!
