ISO Catalog for Canadian Revenue/Tax stamps.

Post by JXStamperinos »

I'm starting to have a lot of interest in Canadian Revenue/Tax stamps, but I am very lost without a catalog to keep track of them. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for what are good catalogs to use and where I might buy them.
thanks. JX

I hope to assist.

Initially I thought that the Unitrade Catalogue may have had some revenues in but then I recalled that there is a van Damme catalogue of Canadian revenues.

I have no idea how often this is published, sorry.

The other major catalogue covers British Commonwealth (& includes Canada) revenues is published by John Barefoot, of York, England. The latest one was published (I think) in 2020.

Have a shoofty online for these titles and see where you can acquire them during lockdown.

David.

Christopher D. Ryan produced a catalogue of Canadian federal tobacco stamps and freely published it online. It can be found here:
version for 1-sided printing: https://www.canadarevenuestamps.com/RyanTobaccoCatalog1side.pdf
version for 2-sided printing: https://www.canadarevenuestamps.com/RyanTobaccoCatalog2side.pdf

Canadian Revenue Stamp Catalogue by E. S. J. van Dam Is the reference of choice in Canada for revenue issues.

The current edition is sold out both with publisher and with most retail sources (including us).

I do have a couple older editions in stock if you can’t find a recent copy online anywhere.

2017 Canadian Revenue Stamp Catalogue
is the last edition of the catalogue.
The catalogue is not updated regularly, with the previous editions being 2009, 2000, 1994 and so on.

RE: David Smitham, HalfpennyYellow, librarianc

Thank you guys for your resources, and suggestions. I'll be sure to ask for those titles next trip I make to my LSS.
Any catalog should work for me even if its a little outdated, for now knowing what ones there are and having a general idea of their values is enough for me.
if prices on the books get to high anyway that PDF is surprisingly detailed and I should have no problem using it from here.
Thanks again - JX.
