Might be genuine but something doesn't seem right to me.

Not a bad starting price at £5 but no way is that genuine.
That back looks like it's been deliberately stained to look old.

Don't ever venture into the stamp expertising business like PSE expertising, caj - you will not last 5 minutes.

OMG.

Well if acclaimed expertisers are clearly speculating this crude ink jet printed CR*P made 10 minutes ago, might be a real proof, the ebay fakers have won the day.

This spiv ebay conman societystreet (12,000 feedbacks - I kid you not) as anyone with 2 eyes can see, is flogging HUNDREDS of ink jet paper perforated fakes -

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/societystreet/m.html?item=2026362 ... 7675.l2562

So before any more members join the conga line drooling over this totally worthless JUNK at often 30 quid apiece, READ that list.

Only a GRADE A MORON would pay more than 10p for this crap - but sadly 1000s of those are on ebay and it sold for 33 quid posted -

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ceylon-1902-10-King-Edward-VII-1- ... 7675.l2557
Image
Why don't these cretins snip an image of a real one from an Auction catalogue for FREE???????????

Perhaps prestamp (an alleged professional "expert" grader) and others might be interested to learn that crude screen dots were not used 100 years back in top end security stamp printing. Nor were perfs made with a blunt nail, and nor were they all printed on wavy, rumpled OfficeMax pieces of modern paper. These are highly technical terms, and most single digit IQ ebay buyers will not know what they mean.

This spiv is laughing at the clear ebay RULES.

He MUST offer this JUNK as replicas, clearly stated as such, and mark the reverse of each stating that, and show that forgery marking - he does neither.

Please all REPORT him, and ebay will warn an or suspend him.
Ebay have revamped the rules re forged and faked and replica and counterfeit stamps.

Sellers now MUST mark fakes indelibly on reverse, and load a photo of that marking into the lot description.

Alterations (that includes forged perfins, overprints and cancels) and repairs MUST be noted now if known to seller, and sellers offering conga lines of the same fakes clearly DO know!

https://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/currstamps.html#replica_stamps

Image
Image

Also on EVERY ebay lot there is a “Report Item” icon – whether the sale is ended or not.

Reporting that via the simple drop-down options as shown below is a 5 second operation -
Image

Image
If ebay gets 5 or 10 reports on any given items they WILL generally take notice. They usually warn the user and remove the lot. Sellers getting several such removed lots are in trouble.

Let’s use ‘people power’ to stop this material getting offered.

Everyone “hoping” others act, will get nothing done - like most things in life! It takes teamwork and a Community Spirit, and the dodgy and misleading lots will be FAR less.

ebay now have set up a fast new portal JUST to report suspected sellers of forged stamps at - https://www.tinyurl.com/ebayfakes - also found at - https://www.ebay.com/scw - there is space for 10,000 characters in your reply, so all the relevant info can be added. Unlike most ebay complaint forms that allow just 100 characters etc.

Please take a moment to do BOTH ….. do the “Report Item” drop-down, and give a summary on the link above.

Most likely they will go to 2 different ebay staffers, and that is double trouble for the fakers.

Some staffers ignore such stuff, others are more pro-active – it is a lottery.

However several reports on any single item can be seen by all staffers looking at it, and that generally gets some action.

Even if 4 staffers have ignored it, the 5th staffer might see 5 reports and decide to act etc.

"People Power" - never under-estimate the value of it! 8)

Ebay's OWN clear written rule is that Counterfeit Stamps are NOT allowed on ebay. Period. Remind them of their OWN rule, and it often does wonders. The average ebay Robot Drone in Bangladesh or Bombay or Bogan has never heard of that rule - REMIND them.

Slight error in the description?
1927 Australia KGV 1/4 Small Multi Perf. 14 Rare Muh

Here is the stamp. Everything the seller claims after the bit I bolded is wrong. It takes an interesting, possibly unique set of brain cells to be capable of being that wrong, and I dips me lid to stecol74 (0 feedback) who wants $AU500 of BIN $AU700 for this ten cent piece of dross.

This goes on my "not exactly inspired to bid on this" list. For AU$6,500 we get a few scans of extremely common material, and the following from robbranson:
Stamp Collection - Inc Australia pre Federation

Stamp Collection Rare and valued stamps from Australia prior to Federation in 1901 and also Van Diemans Land now known as Tasmania and with this collection are stamps from nearly every Country in the World in separate envelopes in alphabetical order.

Accompanied with this are News Paper Articles on the History of Australia Post. Seeing is believing.

Make an offer which will see you take away an ever increasing investment.
Image

I might spend $5.00 in the hope that there is something worthwhile buried in there somewhere, but his "Rare and valued stamps from Australia prior to Federation in 1901 and also Van Diemans Land" are nowhere in sight, and are undoubtedly not rare and not valuable

And judging by what he has bothered to show us, there is no THERE there. We just see some common Singapore, a packet of used Taiwan, some grotty albums, a page of New Zealand nothing-in-particulars, some envelopes that contain maybe 20 stamps each and a 10 year old newspaper poster. A dreamer as an exemplary of what this thread is about.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Stamp-Collection-Inc-Australia-p ... ctupt=true

He also has a coin collection (100 coins!) for AU$1,200 which I suspect are dross as well.

All my dreamers have come - in one neat package. film-shelf-dvd's lots all start with the comment "Quick sale due to moving". ...to that lovely place in the country where all the men in the nice white coats and those hypodermic needles kept for emergencies will look after him.

I will only do three of his totally mad listings, and the rest can be looked at during your leisure, although they lack the joyous descriptions that usually come with the mentally challenged.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Image

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rare-Australian-Penny-Red-Stamp/ ... SwtNlcp5ML

GBP 65,000.00
Rare Australian Penny Red Stamp

“Used, mounted to a book. Will remove carefully, leaving mounting sticker intact.”

Quick sale due to moving. Been advised its worth more, but need a quick sale. Will send 1st Class recorded worldwide

For information how rare this is, please follow the link: https://findyourstampsvalue.com/rarest-stamps/most-valuable-australian-stamps
The link he cites leads to the 1d Red sideways watermark, of which two are known, but he must have only read part of the link and the whole thing started to turn into $ signs. Because he doesn't mention the back and has not even looked at it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Image

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Australian-Stamp/163635542730?ha ... SwLdpcp5HH

GBP 10,000.00
Australian Stamp

Quick sale due to moving. Been advised its worth more, but need a quick sale.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The rest of his descriptions are variations on "hasn't got the time to get them valued at an auction house" which of course would achieve absolutely nothing anyway, except give them all a nice chance to chat over coffee with variations of "what an idiot" because it is worthless Guano. One example here:

Image

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ceylon-Stamp/163635327085?hash=item26196cf06d:g:h0AAAOSwkCZcp2yH

(It's got Hitler's face on it - it must be rare)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh well, one more

Image

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bermuda-stamp/163635437851?hash= ... Swp-Zcp4ao

I really hope that film-shelf-dvd keeps listing. We have not had a serial dreamer for ages.

Handy link to all his barking mad stuff...

1840 2d Blue with 1 in Maltese Cross?

Given the amount of material from this seller surely they should know better?

Low starting price and one would hope that no one pays more than a three margin 2d Blue, still a nice stamp, just not as advertised.

With a starting price of 99p, as are all his lots, I doubt that he could be classified as a dreamer. He seems to leave it up to buyers to decide what all of his material is, and what it is worth.

I don't think this is a dreamer, but its really sloppy descriptions like this that "reel in" bunny dreamers.

If they do their homework, they'd know they should be looking for this ...

(Numbers always squared off)

If the listing does attain more than "a 3 margin 2d blue, with indistinct MX", then we've found the real dreamer.

I am wondering if the wit part of witzk-us is short for witless. Evidence the first:
Rare Canada 1800s 1cent Green Stamp

Rare Canada 1800s 1cent Green Stamp. Shipped with USPS First Class Package. Some brown marking on stamp, but for its age, really good.
$US 250.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rare-Canada-1800s-1cent-Green-St ... ctupt=true

Image
Image

I suppose it is rare, as anybody with enough brains to tie shoelaces would have binned this short perfed, bent corner, toned, worthless monstrosity as soon as they saw it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evidence the second,
Eire Rare (1,2 & 3 Cent) High Demand Stamps

One set of Three Ireland (Eire) Stamps. 1,2 3 cent. According to Best Coins and Stamps, these stamps are rare and much sought after. All three stamps in fine, used condition and are hinged by peelable hinge only in album. I have been collecting stamps for many years.
Image

US $400

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Eire-Rare-1-2-3-Cent-High-Demand ... ctupt=true

Lets analyse the description

Eire Rare (1,2 & 3 Cent) {they are not in cents they are in pence}High Demand Stamps {They are as common as sand on a beach, and were used for over 20 years}

One set of Three Ireland (Eire) Stamps. 1,2 3 cent. {It's not a set} According to Best Coins and Stamps, these stamps are rare and much sought after. {I'm betting my entire collection that they didn't, and that the article you misread referred to the 2d Coil stamp, but whatever you say sunshine}All three stamps in fine, used condition and are hinged by peelable hinge only in album {The 1d is chopped up at the top and right, and is creased more than a 99 year old human, the 3d has a bent corner.}. I have been collecting stamps for many years. { and you haven't learned one thing}

See above for witzk-us .

Evidence the third.
Mexico 1936 20c Lake Stamp

Very rare, fine, used, hinged in album by peelable hinge only. According to Best Coins and Stamps, this stamp is rare and very sought after and is valued at $5,500.00. I have been collecting stamps for a long time
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mexico-1936-20c-Lake-Stamp/28341 ... ctupt=true

Image

Then why do I have one, and my catalogue overprices it at 15p? Here is a slight hint on this one: Look for the same stamp with something on top of it we call "an overprint" which says "AMELIA EARHART VUELO DE BUENA VOLANTAD MEXICO 1935". Call me when you find it. After 30 years of collecting, you may finally learn one thing.

It strikes me as funny when people exaggerate a tad in their descriptions, On the surface this one is harmless enough.
Welcome to our "An Old Stamp Collection Book" Listing. The item in this listing is my grandfather collections of stamps that he had collected over 50 years of his life, all of these stamps are hinged and are used. All the stamps in here are varied in grades, but most of them are at "Fair" grade. You can take a look at these photos of the stamps I have taken, but if you are unsure about a particular one and wanted a more detailed capture of that stamp, you can contact us to take a picture of that stamp in question individually without hesitation. Thanks for taking a look at our collection!
US$570 or BIN $US1,200
Real value - I would give away stuff like this just to get rid of it or chuck it in The Box.

Here is the collection lovingly put together over a fifty year period in all it's glory which by my count, averages out to about three stamps added per year most of which are Thailand packet material, and much of the rest landfill, including the album.

And this one is a little different, in that the mounts are probably worth more than the stamps.

I Have 100 Vintage Stamps For Sale, 10 GW 2 Cent Red And Most From The 1800’s... Shipped with USPS First Class Package.A lot of pre cancel presidential n in good condition.Unique deal. Some from Ireland I was told n worth it to the real collector. is not my hobby, Grandpas gift. Serious collector this is your chance of a lifetime.
Uummm... less than 10 from the 1800's, one pre-cancel not worth much anyway and it is damaged, not unique - this dross would be in every US collection and most world collections, Ireland stamps like these are around in their millions.

And to finish off, not worth the US$3,500.00 asking price, in fact not worth any multiple of nothing. It given to you for a reason, and that reason was obviously not the value of the stamps.

Yeah, sure they are sunshine. I would pay 50 cents for this so it could be put out of its misery, with dignity, on a nice funeral pyre.

I am reviving this one as it now has an interesting history. It has now been listed at:

$5,000 (not sold)
$4,750 (not sold)
$4,500 (not sold)
and is now
$4250

At the current rate of descent, the correct price should be established about 18 listings from now. Currently at

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Very-Old-Vintage-Stamp-Collectio ... ctupt=true

davirabi3 is nothing if not persistent and a good argument as to why eBay listings should all be charged for based on price asked. Even though it would ruin this thread for all time.

Seller victwil-66 says " I know nothing about stamps whatsoever."
yet he knows the SG number of this stamp, on other lots he talks about KGV control pairs, perf, shades, cinderellas !!!! this doesn't sound like someone who doesn't have a clue.

Time will tell.
And indeed, time did tell.

Despite selling it for £590 on 26th Jan (and getting great feedback for it), he's listing exactly the same stamp again.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352643544142

This time he has used a colour background that "screams that its way off colour", so I guess the last purchaser got their money back under guarantee.

You have to conclude "rogue vendor", and looking at the opening bid price, "greedy rogue vendor"

A lot of people seem to have grandpas who collected a lot of manky 70s packet material. Must all be people who have like 17 and 18 year old mothers and 35 year old Grandads.

"rare/ one cent green franklin stamp mint"

rare/ caanot find another one cent green franklin stamp
And "caanot" have looked hard, learned how to spell, find out what mint means, or work out how to teach a fish how to take a bath.

But somehow, kellyandrea44 in your own, and I use the word loosely, mind, you think that it is worth a US$1,000 bid or US$1,500 BIN. It's not. It's worth about as much as snow at room temperature.

I am willing to give doddynoob the benefit of doubt on this one, as it was perhaps just poor research which resulted in his description for what is just a normal used stamp, not worth AU$250, not even worth $A0.25. Otherwise I would be forced to think that he was just a bloody dill.

This one has been around for a while from seller tasmanianman, and it does confuse me somewhat. The seller seems to say, that if you can't get this stamp in genuine condition, here is a forgery of it, which "I" think is real, despite a certificate saying it is a fake, and it will cost you $1,000,000 (the same c.v. as a real one).

Good luck with that spiel, somehow I think that the APS knows a bit more about the subject than you do and I somehow doubt that anyone on the planet is silly enough to throw away a hard $1M on a forged stamp.

US 82 (1867) 3c 'B' Grill - CV $1,000,000 Ext RARE (#65 w/fake grill} & cert

This item is:

SCN: 82 1867 B. Grill {22 X 18} points

Scott Catalogue Value $1,000,000. American Philatelic Society (APS) Cert. Number 226211 Which reads: "U.S. Scott No. 65, used, genuine, fake grill. Note: Scott Specialized Catalogue of U.S. Stamps & Covers reads as follows: "The four known examples of No. 82 are valued in the grade of fine.

Earliest documented use: Feb. 1, 1869 (dated cancel on off-cover stamp)." (page 26)

Note: Go ahead and view the stamp. Count the points. I did. It looks like a genuine SCN 82. If you don't have a SCN 82. Here is your chance to own a almost SCN 82. SCN 82 is extremely RARE.

film-shelf-dvd is continuing to provide a be a considerable source of hilarity. He now seems to be working on the principle that the worse a stamp looks, the more valuable it must be. And this one is as sad as it gets.

Image

The asking price is a pretty stunning GBP 150,000.00 which for something that looks like it was found on a highway after it had sat in peak traffic for a year.

The description is "Mounted, will be carefully taken off book with mount attached." but it really should be euthanised

My heart goes out to seller lamren who only wants AU$100.00 for this CTO North Korea Kiddies Krap, but seems to need money for something terribly important.
Korea Postage Stamps Bulk Democratic people’s republic. Clean Collection

See photos for description. These are my collections All Stamps have been collected from Clean Envirnoments and have been stored very well. I’m desperate and am excepting even crazy offers, my loss is your gain as I’m selling out so Good luck to all bidders.

How about 10 cents plus free postage, which is probably close to real market value and is pretty good for stamps which seem to have been well stored on somebody's table.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Korea-Postage-Stamps-Bulk-Democr ... fresh=true

------------------------------------------------------------------------
His other offer is a lot less realistic, but also has the equally emotional appeal of the first, but lamren optimistically has this one at AU$500.00 where it is catalogued at a whopping £1.60.

I am getting out of my collections of coins and Stamps. and so this special one is Now available. good luck Bidding starting at $500.00 includes postage worldwide. Please make an offer as I will except most offers no matter how ridiculous. My loss is your gain as I’m desperate to sell.

This listing is for a Stamp bought from a very well maintained non-smoking family collection. has been stored carefully for decades. Photos are of the actual auction item! The photos are a very important part of the item description, so please ask if you are unsure of something.

Good luck Bidding
Since he asked potential buyers to "do a search for most valuable Italian stamps!" I did. It isn't. Another 50 cents worth, on a day with a strong tail wind, that is it would be if the NW corner wasn't missing.

I could not resist this one, not just because of the ludicrous price (US$2,500), and the horribly mangled stamps in the offering, but because this appeals to my sense of humour and the seller michelleonly3 has many stupid listings.

I routinely ask the seller the question “How did you decide on this valuation.... I see only very common and damaged stamps worth very very little?”

If I get a response it is often rude.... but I guess I asked for it. This one is unusual in that includes Scott numbers so no doubt in my mind the seller knows more than most... suggest real intent to defraud to me.

One more from michelleonly3 but this is less of a dreamer thing and more like someone taking a quick nap. And as a Movie lover, there are some horror Movies I like, and this obscenity fits the horror category.

OK, it's only $1.50, plus postage, but it really does show how painfully stupid and ignorant of stamps michelleonly3 really is. And read the full description below to show the level of glorious ignorance displayed. The reality is that these stamps are not even good for postage (well, maybe one of them is OK) and are worth absolutely nothing. No normal human should be dumb enough to even offer them for sale.

film-shelf-dvd is just the liar who keeps on giving and is asking for GBP 450.00 for this P.O.S. First the description:
Quick sale due to moving. Been advised its worth more, but need a quick sale.
Image

No, nobody said that to you ever. You just make stuff up and are a pathetic dishonest eBayer who helps give the entire stamp section a bad name. This thread is mostly about funny things by people who do not know any better, but there is nothing funny about film-shelf-dvd's blatant dishonesty as shown in her (?) entire list of stamps.

Some people just deserve to be banned from eBay. film-shelf-dvd is one of them.

I have decided to become a palm reader. For my first reading:

Image

Dear nin666333,

In looking at your life line, I do not see money, to the extent of
US $1,500.00 in the near future, nor do I see a career change looming, when you do not know a rare stamp from the badly damaged common stamp you are holding.

I suggest that you just continue to sell books about rocks, wimpy kids and Captain Underpants as these seem to be more your style than trying to do something clever like sell stamps.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rare-Stamp/273836914387?hash=ite ... ctupt=true

Yours,

Swami Norm. That will be $50 for the reading.

He cites the Scott value as $105, but I imagine that would be for postal use, not fiscal use, which this stamp is. I would pay AU$5 for it as a space filler if I found it in the right place and I was in the mood to buy it.

I include this one, not so much because it is overpriced Kiloware (there is a little bit of money there, but US$2,000?), but for the presentation, which is absolutely stunning.

Yep, throw everything onto the dirty old concrete back steps, next to the full ashtray, the dog bowl, some grotty tools, and assorted other rubbish, and people will line up for it.

yas.-63 has this up for sale as an Australian 1809 stamp for $2,500, so is pretty obviously historically challenged. 63 could be his IQ, not his ID.

The thing is that in 1809 Australia did not officially exist and this is really a 1959 stamp worth about 50 cents per 100. The sad thing is I really though we edumucated Aussies better than this eBayer is.

The famous Irish coil stamp without the coil perfs. It turns up quite often on eBay, probably because of the Wikipedia article about it read by people who are blinded by $ $igns and can't actually $ee the $tamp they are looking at in the article.

Somebody once jokingly accused me of creating fake eBay accounts to start items so I could add posts to this thread and keep it going. But some things are so far beyond any possible stupidity that I could conceive they have to be insanely real. I might be crazy, but I'm not up to this sort of insanity.

For only $A4,500 (BIN A$6,000) here it is from haydewillett_7 (7 must be his age). (Come up to my bedroom and look at my stamp collection?)

Often, my little corner of eBay is free of these dreamers. The benefit I suppose of collecting a narrow area and not looking for all world stamps.

This one however, intruded on my peaceful world this week and it's a cracker.

The stamp in question is Barbados SG74 which is worth about 10p on a good day. With the 'special' "10" cancel it's worth a couple of quid but "10" is the most common of the cancels on this stamps. So, the most common stamp with the most common number cancel.

So why is this worth £170 :?:

Image
Particularly as it's rusted as well and missing some perfs. Actually, quite a lot of perfs :(
Image

I can only guess that they've seen the £500 annotation in the margin and assumed that it relates to this stamp, not the whole picked album page. Nice though that I can start the bidding at only £70

But just to be sure I thought I'd take a dive into their other listings, most of which are the same with layers of rubbish stamps, kiddies albums and fuzzy photos. Oh, and sofas and other stuff. Norm, you'd love this one

What's worse though is that they have actually sold some stuff and it's wildly overpriced

Image
Image

The actual description on one of these lots (pretty much the same on all of them) is;
Very nice valuable world stamp collection
many pages loaded with rare stamps only made
a few photos
Unchecked only made a few pictures very old stamps more than 100+ stamps
collection in midi album
A real superdeal worth every penny cent
VINTAGE mint midi album
The album that sold for £260 was described as:
Very nice valuable midi stamp collection
many pages loaded with stamps only made
a few photos
Unchecked very high cv only made a few pictures 120 plus very old stamps and rare covers hinged stamps
were ever you look in this amazing stamp album you find a gem you will not be disappointed
Priced to sell very high catalog value don't miss this special offer
A real super deal Germany Greece Italy
and moore
This is the original listing and this is where I confess I didn't know that Greek, Italian and Hungarian stamps really are worth that much https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Midi-Album-With-World-Col ... 059770521?
Item Number: 333059770521

Amazing

Please feel free to avoid eBay seller fusen59 and their listings https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333195963115?ul_noapp=true
