Do you edit your Stamp Club's newsletter? This might help!

Post by MargoZ »

If you edit your club's newsletter/journal you will know how difficult it can be to get newsy/interesting items fill up gaps.

Stampboards has regular stamp trivia competitions and also a regular 'Stamps in the news' segment which may provide some useful "instant" and interesting material with which to fill gaps.

You are welcome to use any of these items but please acknowledge http://www.stampboards.comfor the trivia questions, and you should generally credit the original source for any items from Stamps in the News.

Links provided below.

If you want to see some great examples of one club doing this see Brian31stamp's wonderful Campbelltown NSW monthly newsletter.

http://stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=1994

Club members seem to really like a half dozen juicy stamp trivia questions .. like Brian uses - just be sure the answers are over the page somewhere, or upside down, to keep them interested!

If you have any queries please contact me

Cheers
Margo

Thanks Margo

I have just come across this post.

The upside down idea allowed me to give the answers in the same edition without it being too obvious at the beginning.

As you indicate - Stampboards has a wealth of interesting topics which you can refine by using the search engine.

Thanks Margo,

I'll inform the President of the Malaysian Philatelic Society,
when I see him this weekend.
Our newsletters can get spiced up
with some of this trivia. Great idea.

Cheers
Andrew

Margo,

I might just take this opportunity to fill up gaps in the Malaysian Philatelist, of which I am presently the editor, having done one issue recently, and now having to work on the next.

Did put up an appeal for articles in the Malaysian Philatelic Society thead and am hoping some members will respond, especially Iomoon, Brian, TonyMarc, Gavin and many others.

Cheers
Andrew

Thanks
