Toowoomba National One Frame Exhibition 9-10 Oct 2021

Post by davidtoo »

Hi All

The Toowoomba Stamp Club is hosting a National One Frame Stamp Exhibition on Saturday and Sunday the 9th and 10th of October 2021. This is the first National Exhibition to be held in Queensland outside of Brisbane.

All the details are on the Toowoomba 2021 website

https://toowoomba2021.com.au/

There is a overprinted minisheet available with a special postmark for each day.

For those planning to prepare exhibits the closing date for the entry form is the 5th July.

Hopefully COVID19 will behave itself and everyone can come to Toowoomba and have an enjoyable weekend and maybe hang around and visit what else is on offer in this region.

Very impressive, especially for someone pondering the eternal questions - "mmm, maybe I could do that"!

One of the best exhibition websites I’ve seen 8-)

Philip, one frame exhibitions are an excellent way to get into exhibiting.

I encourage all collectors to have a look at the entries shown in all the various classes and see how they are set out, the material included and how they are described. The next step is to have a look at what class would suit you and what you have that could fit into that class, then have a go at it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained

Toowoomba 2021 Update

As some have already found Toowoomba 2021 is now a virtual exhibition.

Due to COVID19 and the border closures we were unable to get the frames, and the interstate exhibits to Toowoomba. The committee was determined for the exhibition to proceed so it had to be in the virtual format.

With the co-operation of all involved, particularly the exhibitors and judges, the decision was made to make a virtual exhibition. There are 67 exhibits for viewing, which will remain on the website for some time after the event.

The two day stamp day will still be on the 9 and 10 October but with some changes. There will be no physical competitive exhibits on display, but there will be a number of computers at the venue with large screens for visitors to view the exhibits.

There will still be the Toowoomba Stamp club Heritage Trophy displays, as well as some state exhibits kindly lent by the exhibitors for display in the "state" frames we have available. These are intended to give visitors some examples of what can be done with displays.

We have some volunteers to give short talks on displays, and other philatelic subjects.

The interstate dealers who were listed to attend will be unable to be here, but the local dealers will be in attendance for the two days.

Hopefully there will be no further COVID based restrictions occurring and we are still hopeful of a successful stamp fair, so if you able to come please do.

Cheers

David
