Please Help ID These Two Polish Charity Labels

Post by kuikka »

Hi everyone,

I have these two Polish stamps (likely not postage stamps) which I cannot locate from my sources. Any information on them appreciated.

Brown unknown Polish stamp

Blue and red unknown Polish stamp

Dimensions of the blue and red stamp (design) are few mm larger than the red one.

Not my field but these are Polska cinderella issued in 1946 for collection of funds for reconstruction of health resorts for the posts and telecommunications department employees.

Joy,

Thank you very much. Do you know if their usage was voluntary or compulsory?

Kimmo,

They are voluntary charity labels that were in use just after WWII.

The appropriate information was compactly supplied by Joy. I can add a little to complement the answer.

An example of the red and blue cinderella/charity label is currently on the Delcampe site:

.
For the Polish inscriptions, Google translate tells me:
Na odbudowę uzdrowiskFor the Reconstruction of Spas.
Poczty i TelekomunikacjiPosts and Telecommunications.

Health resorts/spas are still popular in Poland and elsewhere in Europe, though it seems they are now privatised. On a list promoting health resorts/spas in Poland I found, as a modern example:
.
bristol-sanatorium-busko-zdroj-002.jpg
Bristol**** Art & SPA Sanatorium is a newly-built spa complex situated in the very centre of Busko-Zdrój, in the immediate vicinity of the Łazienkowski Park. Busko-Zdrój, located in the Świętokrzyskie Province, is famous for its use of healing sulphide water, iodine and bromide water, and therapeutic mud. Utilised for bathing and drinking therapies, these resources act as anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, detoxifying and regenerative agents.
