Tiny "Les ECO" 1f.00 cinderella/label. Any info?

We all have and handle these from time to time. "Back of book", Revenues, "Cinderellas", duty stamps and all kinds of other stamp like labels. Discuss them all HERE!

Tiny "Les ECO" 1f.00 cinderella/label. Any info?

Post by The Pom »

I found a number of these in a mixed lot I bought recently. They had been used as hinges, so are all folded in two.

The printed area is 15mm x 11mm. Any info appreciated.

Chris,

The bag the child is carrying has the word "Sucre" = "Sugar". Maybe something to do with

The size and format suggest some kind of toy post office set.

The bag the child is carrying has the word "Sucre" = "Sugar". Maybe something to do with a corner-shop game?

The face value of 1 Franc suggests maybe "old" French Francs, ie pre-late 50s when they devalued by knocking a couple of noughts off the end.

Are the ones you have all the same design / denomination / colour?

Thread resurrection!

I've been doing some digging round a few old random threads & have managed to find out what these are.

They are examples of what are known as "timbres-prime". They were given out at the time of sale of goods by the vendor, and were redeemable against future purchases.

We see much the same today, with most larger supermarket chains offering "loyalty card points" or similar.
