Australia 24K Gold solid bullion replica stamps just $A45 each!
A perfect opportunity for you to own YOUR choice of stamps from the superb collection of Australian stamps, gleaming precious metal highly polished Proofs, struck in solid silver and plated with 24 carat gold known as "The Australian Collection". Amazingly, all still in original packaging, and unopened - after 32 years.
Some of the following photos are taken from the advertising brochure - the copy from my Archive files - that Australia Post mailed to all those on the "Stamp Bulletin" mailing list back then.
The Australia Post Philatelic Bureau Manager fully endorsed and approved this set by mail, and waxed lyrical in a letter to collectors, on what a lovely item it all was etc. See his letter below from my files.
The Australian Collection - Issued under the full authority and endorsement of Australia Post, to commemorate Australia's Bicentenary in 1988, by Hallmark Diemasters & Engravers Pty. Limited, was made in a very Limited run.
Each ingot is identical in exterior size to the huge original stamp, but MUCCHHH thicker of course! Highly polished Proof quality, hand struck by Master Minters, in solid Sterling Silver, plated with 24 Carat Gold, and each is a substantial 2.2 mm thick as you can see in photo.
Fair bit of 'scrap' melt value in the large chunk of Sterling Silver here alone.
Rear of all stamps are stamped with "The Australian Collection" and ".925 silver HF" to authenticate them as high grade, fully certified Bullion.
In 1988 – now 32 years back - these replicas cost subscribers - exactly $A98.60 an ingot. True! See original receipt scanned below.
These are brand new in the original secure and protective packaging. Each ingot is in a special clear moulded mount, inset into a large Racing Green solid card outer folder - about the size of a FDC or PO pack. The ingots are thus still in as minted, highly polished Mirror Proof state, and unscuffed or damaged.
VERY few would have been retained thus after 33 years, as near all went into the fancy display box that came with the set. A bit like better Dinky Toys, or Barbie Dolls etc, in clean ORIGINAL packaging - they are worth MANY times the basic items if in original packaging.
Very easy to store each of these original cards on a #3 size Hagner, any standard FDC page, or stockbook page etc, or even stored flat in a large glassine etc.
I bought these off someone who iterally paid $98.60 each - receipt below. A first class letter costs 4 times more now than it did in 1988, so this outlay had a relativity value of $A400 in today’s money. You are paying about 10% of that!!
Have duplicates of most - sometimes 10 of each if you have a favourite - this guy spent literally $10,000s on these! But they are selling fast, so secure your favourite soon.

If anyone wants to tak to me about a bulk deal offer ON THE LOT, I might very well be interested as very busy right now. Be BRILLIANT to offer sperately on ebay etc. And all encased in the 9"x4" thick card dark green Hallamark cards of issue, (see images above) with ingot in an encases and UNC clear mylar bubble, superb and easy to mail safely in a DL size standard envelope.
Now have just TWO sets of 23 Different - $A700 the set 20. Cost this Investor $2,300 - over 32 years back! (Stock 526AAC)
These Bullion INGOTS of course do NOT have the fake corner cancels .. they are like exact MINT stamps cast in Bullion - PO insisted on the same size colour photos, that the fake cancel be added - normal policy!
**The massive Boer War "Victoria Cross" Charity Stamp ingot is by far the largest and most iconic of the set. (Stock 526AE)
And please do that NOW. Too many think “I’ll do that later” and then quickly “forget”. I then lose the stamps in the rubble here, and waste an annoying hour finding them again.
All payment details etc are on: https://www.tinyurl.com/GlenPay - NICE franking is used when I mail : see member pix of that here - https://tinyurl.com/GlenCTO
For overseas members, to find out the approx cost in YOUR currency, click here - https://www.xe.com - the $A has CRASHED lately, and for USA and UK buyers, these prices are REALLY cheap in your money!
MONEY BACK GUARANTEE - don't like it - mail it back within 48 hours of receiving it. No-one ever has yet.
And "lay-by/layaway" is always possible - email me with any queries to glen [at] glenstephens.com - OR "trade-ins" always possible! If you have a pile of surplus stuff, I may well be happy to offset that against this item, see: https://tinyurl.com/GlenBuy
As most know - I do NO fairs or shows, have NO shop, and do NOT bother with ebay or any other auctions. I buy endless bulk lots from Estates, and distress sales etc, in this massive city of 6 million with no other real stamp buyers, and offer it here at NETT prices for fast turnover. NO "20%-25% Buyer Fees" to add to my prices, as in auction!
Many similar mouth-watering NETT price offers are being loaded weekly onto - https://tinyurl.com/GlenRare and https://tinyurl.com/GlenSpec
All stampboards lots $A200 and under are always mailed Unregistered and untracked, unless YOU specifically note otherwise on order form. 1000s of my transactions here for 9 years have been safe by normal post.
If Registered (PO cover is to $A100 only sadly) is required, clearly STATE that on order form - cost is extra $A4 local, and minimum $A16 ($US12) extra foreign depending on weight. Only YOU know if your street address is secure - a large packet covered in pretty stamps left outside, just might tempt passers-by? Only YOU know that, I do not. Mail contractors these days are often lazy and leave packets on top of mailboxes etc in view of public, and out in wet weather etc. PO Boxes are FAR safer.
"All Risk" Insurance is always possible if required as well, at $A2 per $100 covered - again it must be specified on order form. It is like Travel Insurance - decline that when booking your ticket, and THEN tell Qantas you really meant to take it 3 weeks back, and you now need to cancel your ticket for no penalty, and see how you go with THAT one!
As per stampboards convention - this lot is offered exclusively first to board members - and on no other sales venue.
For members who make a BANK TRANSFER payment you WILL generally get your goods faster, as it saves me some hassle - but you MUST email me the confirmation number etc - many "forget"!
