Update: Cinderella Price Lists 1990-2000 on Disk
As advised on StampBoards, I had intended to publish the volume on CD and DVD on Monday, May 17. Work was completed early last week when testing revealed several issues which we are working to rectify including reduction of excessive file size and the achievement of 100% text searchability throughout the volume using Acrobat Reader software.
These improvements are essential for the optimisation of the volume and to maximise user experience.
Those who are familiar with Adobe technologies, you will understand that, in order to compile the volume, we had to re-scan every one of the 800-odd pages, convert them from flat image files to text-searchable PDFs, and combine them all into a single volume whilst maintaining reasonable image quality and a reasonable file size.
As a result, we are working to make the necessary improvements and the publication/shipping date will now be two weeks later than originally planned; hence, the revised publication/shipping date for Pre-Orders is Monday, May 31 and I have every confidence that this deadline will be met.
All StampBoarders who have pre-ordered the Disk have been advised by email of the delay and the revised publication/shipping date, and I thank the larger number who have written back with expressions of support and understanding, which make our efforts all the more worthwhile.
In addition to their Cinderella Price Lists 1990-2000 disk, each Pre-Order customer will also receive, by way of compensation for this short delay, a packet of several Cinderella items from the Lists originally offered for sale by Bill Hornadge.
Meanwhile, in a separate (following) post, I am extending the special Pre-Order price for the Disk to Sunday, May 30, to let other StampBoarders take advantage of this slight delay to obtain the Disk at an advantageous price.
