Gutters,

I had forgotten to include a section on the surcharges in this wiki. I'd like to see your copies.

Give me a bit of time to work out what the format will be & where to place. Would like to see enlargements of the "One Penny" surcharges for comparison purposes.

I have a couple of blatant forgeries on the 1/- including a forged overprint to boot.
Time to quit. Was told what I should collect.

I've just been re-reading this wiki and I noticed your comment about the lack of info about and examples of surcharges.

Here are a couple I have which may add to the general knowledge.

Image
On this surcharge the tops of the 1st and 3rd "n" are not joined.

Image
This surcharge is smudged enough to make me suspect it is a forgery. Whether or not that is so, the shape of the "I" in Islands would probably help to plate the underlying stamp.
The actual KGV stamp is also interesting in that it appears to be a parallelogram rather than rectangular.

As Gutters has said before me, feel free to delete (or move) this post when you've had a look.

Hello Kainnikanada,

Throughly enjoyed every page and image. Would very much like to have a copy of the pdf, if still available and you are so inclined to post it.
to (chylonATwabroadband.com)
I remember passing on a 5d "one penny" because of the seperated Ns. Alas, that was years ago before I-phones and easy pics.

Thanks, Mr. C

Lundy,

Nice item. 2nd wmks are not as common.

If, indeed it is 2nd, and the colour appears correct then the ACSC should be 6(2)f.
Time to quit. Was told what I should collect.
