Sorry to hear that Glen. I hope he does well. Exactly the same story as Lucky and the same behaviours. He tends to eat cloth, including drapes, and gets in trouble. He is currently going through his second pancreatitis as a result. Seems to be pulling through though...

Best of luck with Smoky. We can’t help but adore the miscreants...

Cheers,
Joël.

Thanks Joel, :D

Being an Alley cat Smokey is a real hunter. He eats lizards, skinks and the endless frogs here all day outside here, and who know what else.

He is recovering in Vet hospitall today after operation to remove a blockage. We initially thought he'd had a snake bits as we have them here, including the deady brown snakes, and he was totally listless for days.

We used to be a dog only household. I used to foster them here for Monica's Dog Rescue (and chose and bought the website domain for her - www.doggierescue.com - 25 years ago!) and there are some really wonderful dogs needing new caring homes, in all parts of the state.

We have 3 cats right now, and newest arrival is alley cat Smokey.

He LOVES bird feathers. He runs from one end of the house like a maniac, with his newest favourite feather in his little mouth. But is very gently with them. Get a few for Mr. Lucky - our Smokey does not EAT the feathers! 8-)

Castores kindly send up a couple of lots of Canberra feathers, and ghopper02 in California recently mailed him these American Bush Turkey ones, with superb Big Bend Express stamp frankings - and the 2 cute plastic springlike things, that he likes better than any fancy bought toys. Many thanks to them both from Smokey.

Glen

The other day, coming home from taking pics, one more of my cats was nearby.
This is Cinder. Okay, so that's seven of them, five more to go....

A good view of how binocular vision works. The tiny vertical line in Cinder's eyes is me, standing between two cedars, which you can also make out. Note, since the eyes are distanced apart, how I am on the right side of Cinder's pupil in one eye, but on the left side of the pupil in his other eye. These two slightly different angles are combined by the brain to make one image, but also helps give depth perception.
