Beautiful downtown Lara is open for business again and the Kids and I are going to celebrate by going to Founders for Lunch on Sunday for my 50th 21st Birthday.

I might... just might mind you, have the garlic prawn paella and a nice bottle of Red.

Two bottles.

I've heard disparaging remarks about Jar Jar Binks on the radio lately and now your comment.

I don't understand why?

I like Jar Jar Binks, I have goats that remind me of him.

I did not see the original Star Wars film until at least 20 years after it came out. I quite liked the little dustbin character and the gold figure character, so am used to being behind the times.

Pretty much anything, I am a great believer in vaccination.

The benefits to mankind are enormous, it is that simple. Dr. Jenner risked the life of his son hundreds of years ago with an early trial.

The so-called 'anti-vaxxers' are mostly neurotic parents who are a menace to society and safety.

Covid-19 test tomorrow then self isolation - presumably a cotton bud rolled around up my nose. Nothing bad, I am having a rigid cystoscopy next week and the Hospital requires me to take the test beforehand. I'll let everyone know what the test was like.

Norm, as a recently retired doctor, the news of a rigid cystoscopy gave me the trembles. I was under the impression that thanks to flexible instruments eg Gastroscopes/Colonoscopes/Cystoscopes etc that rigid inspections were as common as the Dodo. New lighting technologies with total internal reflection allows viewing even with bends and kinks in the instrument and the system being viewed.

I had a rigid sigmoidoscopy in 1970 and would never like a repeat unless as a cadaver demonstration for students!

Waffle, I have had as number of flexibles under local anaesthetic over the years, the last one being about two months ago. It's fascinating to see the inside of my bladder on a TV screen. Occasionally they find something that they do not like.

The rigid is done under full anaesthetic to take samples for testing. I have had several of these as well. Maybe they use the same instruments, swapping camera for knife, and call it a rigid just to differentiate between the two procedures. I am not sure I would like it seeing the wall of my bladder sliced into while awake anyway.

The Australian Health system as you would know is very careful, so I will only be getting these procedures for the rest of my life.

Norm, Rigid Cystoscopies for ever. One would think that they had never heard of flexible instruments, only been available for 40 years. I used one, under tuition in 1971. Even under anaesthetic, the patient had an erection. Made it so much easier to insert the cystoscope.

Lunch at the Telegraph Hotel in Gisborne yesterday, visiting my sister-in-law for the first time since my brother's funeral a month ago, a pleasant 90 minutes from beautiful downtown Lara and above the Great Dividing range. Beautiful bush town. Nice to be able to go anywhere again for no reason except we can. My S.I.L seems a lot better, but it is something you never really get over.

I went "old school". Rare Porterhouse with pepper sauce, chips and salad. It was very nice, but I thought an extra $8.00 for the salad was a bit rude. More than one glass of red. The ambience was horrid though.
