Sad to hear that. A loss to the hobby. My condolences.
Looking for used stamps and postcards on board games, except chess (checkers, dominos, go game, backgammon), traditional children's games (hopscotch, kites, spinning top, hide and seek, hoops), traditional games of adults (traditional wrestlings, bowls, petanque...) and computer or video games

Hi All

I am Nathan. Norm’s son. First off I want to say it is so wonderful to see so many great stories and how much fun dad brought to the boards and to the in person dinners.

I mean it’s pretty obvious but Dad really loved stamps :) on many occasions when I would head around to visit he would have tea towels on the bench with a number of stamps drying. Stampboards on his computer screen and catalogues all around the house.

His love of stamps was never passed down to me but the love of collecting was. I collect retro games consoles instead. Such a 90s kid ;)

He also loved to chat about the Footy, Professional Wrestling or Movies and TV. I will most certainly miss his movie recommendations every time we visited and the joy he had in letting us know he’d found a new movie we should take the time to watch.

For anyone in the Geelong region interested in attending the funeral we are now allowed to have up to 82 inside the hall and up to 300 outside. If you are interested in attending please email me at nathanpoyser [at] gmail.com to get the details for attending in person.

On behalf of my sisters Kylie and Jodie I really would love to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has posted here. Your kind words will live on as a bookmark forever in my browser as a reminder of how much dad impacted those around him.

Nathan

This is the first time I have clicked on "View new Posts" in several days, and I was instantly saddened by seeing this thread heading.

One of the best posters on these boards ever.

I never met him, but I will surely miss him.

So sad.

My condolences to his family.

Noticed Norm's white stampboards baseball cap in the centre of the table of personal reminders, also with his 10 x LED stamp Magnifier --- a stampie to the last - very appropriate - and his blue and white beloved Geelong Cats football scarf of course.

His daughter added a large Thank You for the global tributes above to their father, and mentioned they were from members in 24 different countries, and mentioned his 36,000+ posts here, and his Senior Moderator role.

I seem to be a bot behind the 8 ball here and just found this news now.

A sad loss, I will miss him and his wit and how he kept it real.

Thanks to him, we have phrases like "Ferret cage liner", "Kiddie Krap", "Barby starter" and the like to describe the dreamers thread that Norm was present in a lot.

A very strong personality who clashed with me many times, I always respected anyone who could speak their mind.
Hope he is advising naive dreamers up in heaven as we speak.
