Just read this online! :|

RIP Charlie…another of the icons who helped form my youth.

Was fortunate to see them a couple times.

Only recently saw an interview taken some time ago regarding his tenure as a drummer for the Stones and he was asked if he had ever thought he would be in that position for so long.

He seemed a little "out of it" or at least a bit distracted and responded by saying something along the lines of it was just a job.

As stated earlier in this thread, another influential piece of my formulative years has fallen by the wayside.

R.I.P. mate.

I was never a fan of the Rolling Stones. But they did it their way and did it good.

I was lucky enough to see them once, the last time they came to Australia. The last song that they played was Satisfaction. Out of all of their song list It was never one of my favourites as I preferred Get Off of My Cloud and others. That was until I heard them play it live, with a crowd of 20,000 yelling the chorus back at them.

Then I got it. It was incredible.

RIP Charlie. Thanks for the memories.

Charlie Watts was in the Rolling Stones one of my favorite bands. R I P Monsieur Watts

He often spent his holidays not far from Montpellier in the Cévennes, towards the village of Sauve, where he had owned a house for many years and where he was very popular with people.

So are you going to start injecting heroine any time soon? Want to purposely contract syphilis?

On average, one dose of heroine per day started at 20 years of age decreases your life expectancy by almost 30 years.

Not suggesting that Charlie indulged in any excesses, but Keith in his autobiography explains his longevity to the fact that he could always afford the best quality drugs!

Yes Keith Richards would not have made it to age 21 if that were true!

I read Bill Wyman's autobiography, and got the impression Charlie went home to his wife and dogs, and meat and 3 vegs existence, watching Coronation Street etc, whilst the others partied.

Keith has seriously dodged the bullet. The life expectancy of a heroin addict is 37 years.
