The handsome guy in the front is my son. I'm trying to push him into philately too but with varying degrees of success. Oh, and he actually makes the ugly christmas sweater look good.

Great pictures Shruthi but you did send me checking out my Google maps.
What a stunning part of the world!
Thank You. It truly is one of its kind.

This is nice thread, to put a face to the name we all see in the posts.
lifeoutsidecubicle in Reality. This picture was taken during my adventure just before the pandemic struck - Trekking through the Frozen Zanskar River.
What a pretty location -- good to see global warming is not happening in THAT region anyway!
Glen
It is happening Glen. It is in-fact getting worse with each year. The river used to freeze entirely for months during winter. Now hardly it freezes for about weeks. On top of that there will be breaks and people have to climb gorges. In few years, it will not freeze at all. One of the most iconic treks will disappear and locals have to rely on longer roads to commute.

I remember that Catweazle joined when he was in high school, back in 2009.
So, judging by the age of whom when one joins, I can (with certainty) qualify for "Youngest Stampboarder"!
Searching for the sport of cricket, Lions and Rotary International, non-rectangular stamps, stamps on stamps and PIGS. OINK!

I AM INDEED 14!
At least you can all be relieved that young people are still interested.
Great to hear! Have chased some of your post boxes!
(OldDuffer1- not 14!)
I didn't know this thread was here - only just found it!
Thing is, when people have a stamp with a portrait as their avatar, I start to think of them as looking like that.
I always imagine Oldduffer1 to look exactly like Kim Philby!
(I don't know if you've ever put your real photo up)
And Sargonnas as a baldy Edwardian bloke with a bushy beard
Silly I know!
I'll try and find a reasonably flattering photo of myself for this thread
Collecting mint British Empire / Colonial up to the 1960s, Bridlington & East Yorkshire postal history, and wacky postcards.
Catweazle and Glen shown downing a pint of imported draft Guinness in Flinders Street, as it was St Patrick's Day, and we both ended up with a free Guinness cap as well.
Many thanks to Ben, Catweazle who kindly met us at our airport hotel, and drove us to the MCG today - full story here -

Me standing next to the memorial on Rabi Island, Fiji, which commemorates the relocation of Banabans from Banaba in 1945. Banaba is part of Kiribati but is better known as Ocean Island. Kiribati is the chain of island that were the Gilbert section of the Gilbert and Ellis Islands.
The Banabans were relocated or forecably moved to allow the Bristish Phosphate Commission to continue its phosphate mining operations.
That's me some time ago in front of Jakobstad yacht club restaurant we were visiting that day.
