Good observation! I have the stamps but never noticed the bananas. Thanks.

Several days ago, on April 14, 2022, French Polynesia issued a stamp and SS to mart 140th anniversary death of Charles Darwin. It shows Darwin in front of a yellow and red Banana bunches. I still don't have it (I collect Darwin stamps).

I got a copy of the 1967 "Fruit Carriers' Race" stamp today:Eli wrote: ↑29 Oct 2021 16:29
It is indeed a traditional sport of French Polynesia to run with fruits, usually Banana, tide to a rod. I think it developed from the way they carry fruits from the fields to the market. Beside the 2000 stamp that you posted above, French Polynesia issued at least other five stamps show this traditional sport of running with Banana or people carry Banana and other fruits in years: 1967, 1972, 2002, 2012 and 2021.
The quest to harvest philatelic bananas continues ...

I couldn't see this one on the thread yet... it is a rather small banana

As part of a 2005 issue showing a series of cartoon people eating food from around the world. This one features a teenage boy eating an apple, with a banana in the fruit bowl. There are apparently over 10,000 types of apples!

It can be a challenge to see the bananas when they share the billing with another subject:
Thanks for sharing all the bananas you discover!

I was just mounting these stamps today when I realized that there were bananas lurking in the background. Apparently ripe bananas are good food for lorikeets!

This is the third value in the 1971 Primary Industries set from PNG, and you can see two big green bunches, in the background. Cheers, Tod.

In 1907, a long set of definitive stamps, contains three different designs, was issued for Moyen Congo. Later, these stamps were overprinted for use in different colonies. One of the designs has Banana trees and fruits:
