Any ideas on this please? A QEII Coronation 'stamp' with no country

Post by ocifant »

I picked up a small auction win today, and included in the usual East European and African CTO melange was an envelope labelled "Rare unlabelled stamp". Opening it up, there was a single stamp inside:
Scan 1.jpeg
Obviously an image from the QEII coronation celebrations, but with no indication of country, value or anything else, so obviously not(?) a postage item, and I strongly doubt it is a 'rare' item.

But a Google lens search provided only one correct match, and that was a postcard by Valentines in portrait format.

Does anyone know if commemorative stamps were issued at the time which may have included this image, and if so, how many would have been in the set? I know it wasn't unusual to issue 'stickers' like this for major royalty events, but I'm surprised that this particular image doesn't seem to be on the internet anywhere.

Any ideas please?

I’d say it’s not a postage stamp. That looks like a Cinderella to me.

To me it looks like it might have been issued next to a regular postage stamps, possibly in a souvenir sheet. Does the size and perforation (and the paper quality) match to any stamp celebrating the anniversaries of Queen Elisabeth II? Could be issued by any Commonwealth country.

It is from the 1977 M/S from St Vincent for the Silver Jubilee of QEII.

Well spotted indeed Brummie.

If you had listed the "label" on ebay and didn't say where it had come from you'd probably have got a better outcome than if you'd listed the sheet.

Daft eh!
