I wrote about this 12 years ago in Stamp News -

For a Century, this huge flaw had never been reported, until 3 stampboarders on 3 continents all came up with them!

It's on my list too! (but that's a list I just actually haven't even started writing).
I ACTUALLY have a list of the varieties I still want printed out so I can remember which ones to look out for when I'm at stamp fairs
I won't try writing smaller than you Anita, I didn't see you had actually written something until about the third pass 8-)

Is that restricted to pre-decimal?

Apart from how thick and explosive the book would become I toyed with the idea of sticking my pictures in place of BW's

Then more and more people came forward with their own examples. It's now a listed ACSC variety. You can go back through the "Flaws on Aust Kangaroo stamps? Help from the experts please!" thread to see the discovery evolve. It's really 8-)
At some point I will do just that!

The Kangaroo stamps were first issued nearly 100 years back, and MILLIONS of research words have been written on them since. Entire rainforests have likely been pulped, publishing works on the flaws and varieties!

One would imagine then that the most visual and most obvious constant flaws would all have been reported and recorded many decades back.

The ACSC “Kangaroos” volume is 100s of pages thick.

Not the case. On stampboards.com this month a German member “josto” posted up images of not one, but TWO 4d’s he had found with a large, coloured “island flaw” off the WA coast.
A good reason for me to keep posting.... thanks Glen!

Rather surprised that out of 7 stamps from the set I've ended up with varieties on 4.
Castores, you assert they are varieties.

May I suggest all the stamps in this particular Pioneer Life post exhibit surface damage/abrasion?
Damage/Abrasion:

Something I completely missed pointing out previously, they are all MINT (which you should be able to see) and have been stored since day one so no damage could come to them. Not to re-mention they are ALL ACSC LISTED. If a stamp had a very large flaw on it there is little chance (yes some have) it would make it to the P.O. for sale, so, the majority are small or tiny. I didn't make it up.
Glen wrote: One would imagine then that the most visual and most obvious constant flaws would all have been reported and recorded many decades back.
Rigs, I can only assume you don't collect flaws?
That's totally up to you.

Every time I look to do an addition to this thread I notice a good number of guests having a look. Who knows, they may join because of it. This is a good thing?

A bit of a re-visit to the thread and I give you this,

Listed Retouch, followed by what may or may not be retouches.

First point of call, so what if they are retouches = they aren't listed.
Well everyone revisit these stamps you have and let's see.
Secondly, I must say, if my examples here were to be inspected by one or more verified in the field and they said "well they are retouches" ?

There are examples of one only one existing, yet they are listed. 90% would be mint examples.

I've seen pics in Brusden White books (ACSC) of one-offs, mint, obviously a flaw/mistake (especially in regards to perfs), but because they show more than one stamp with the same affliction, they are listed (and as one-offs)

Any reason this shouldn't be listed in ACSC? It includes a listed flaw so position is realised and there is more than one stamp affixed to the margin... lacking perfs... and possibly more column 1s with gutter attached are out there. Not that four examples aren't enough.

I'm getting closer and closer to starting on these (I do and do not look forward to it)
These are all your good size general sandwich bags, as many as you see in the front - same number behind (at a guess, in excess of 150 bags?).

Oh yes, there is another box!
Do you like the slate floor? I put it down diagonal to the square. Everyone goes square.
And really, there's no more cuts doing it this way.

If you are interested in flaws, don't think you need massive amounts of the stamp (necessarily) to obtain an example. There are a number of stamps I have where my total is well below ten! The best example I can give you of this is the above - it is the only $1 from this set I have!

I knew I had a scan somewhere, these are all 665f (variations) located so far, followed by 'dot' vs the 'other dot'
Is it enough to classify two states? Which came first?
But then stamp 2 is more of a curve than a right angle... (3rd state?)
Maybe they're all classified as the same, unlike KG V...

Okay, I've added it (note how far it extends up the trunk, after a slight break. And, well, everywhere else also!)
The "Fungus" has taken over.

I would put the three as: diagonal / right angle / Fungudeath fungicide

Every time I look to do an addition to this thread I notice a good number of guests having a look. Who knows, they may join because of it. This is a good thing?
And I see someone else quite often.... who would that be ??? 8-)

It's good to see so many guests (and members) having a look. I expect some are checking their own stamps against these images. Have one of my unlisted?

At a quick count, so not likely to be accurate, I'm at 55 listed, 22 unlisted.

Currently combining bought FDCs with what I already have.
I've never checked my FDCs so I thought I'd do a few scans and see what I can come up with.
