By my calculations, that's 10am Friday 15th, Sydney time.

Just need to check if that allowed for our DST.

Well worth looking at this webinar

Stephen has the earliest entire letter from Australia in private hands. Dated 1801, it was sent from Sydney Town to Edinburgh.

He also has the third earliest entire letter sent from Van Diemen’s Land ((Tasmania) in 1804.

Lakatoi 4,

Stephen Browne owns some incredible material. I recently viewed his exhibit “The Postal History of Van Diemen’s Land to 1825” in the AusVipex 2020 Exhibition, where he was runner up, and tried to envisage the effort that would have gone into assembling that one frame exhibit. Just exceptional!

I managed to watch the first half hour but as luck would have it I had an online meeting at 10:30am so only saw the first part.

What a great collection of the very earliest postal history of Australia. He has built it over 35 years and as he said, he was “laser focused” in making it the best of type.

There is no way I (and I suspect most others) could have put in the same amount of research and effort into one philatelic subject.

Well done Stephen 8-)
