Many congratulations on this amazing total.

Just curious as to how you do this?

Approximations.

800,000 for 10 years after joining SB = 80,000 posts per year and [at] 365 day per year= approx 220 posts per day?

Perhaps I am confused as to how posts are worked out?

You can also search a user's posts and you will see that Bunge does rather a lot! In fact he is responsible for slightly over one in ten of all posts on Stampboards. Impressive.

I am aware that the number generated is the number of posts but find it incredible that anyone can post an average of 209.44 posts per day!

If a post takes say, 5 minutes, then 5 min x 209 = 1045 minutes = 17 hours per day for 7 days a week. At 10 min per post then one would need a 34 hours day.

Just intrigued.

I thought the large number might be the sum of all the posts associated with particular threads, just cannot see how it is possible otherwise.

Hello johncrow. As you've now probably discovered, some Stampboards threads are content-rich, full of information, images, expert opinion, and reference material, while other threads are something like "doodles", with temporary amusement value for the poster and no content of consequence. As you say, whatever pleases the poster... But the long term, community value of Stampboards clearly rests on the "serious" posts, of which there are many.

This stamp might serve us as a metaphor:

Thank you everyone for the congratulations. I never in my wildest dreams when i first joined some 29 months ago, could have imagined the heights of 10,000 posts. I must be glued to the IMac. Special thanks to my scanner, Ubobo, without whose assistance, I would still be on 0.
I prefer to collect UK, British Commonwealth esp Pacific area ( not excluding West Indies/Canada ) and Western Europe. At the bottom of my zone of interest is Eastern Europe and communist countries.
