Info sought on Hungary 1970s photographic stamp proofs?

Post by franceint »

Anyone know anything about these? I found a bunch of them in an auction lot. They appear to be black and white photos of the stamps (but no perforations).

Some kind of proof?

Any idea how many were made or why?

Reason: Expanded totally vague and lazy 3 word heading, to make some sense to members, (read Rule 10) and turned it into a QUESTION of some kind.

Likely to be photos sent to stamp magazines and newspapers for a coming issue. Along with a sheet outlining the details and issue date and subject matter. Australia did it at this time. USA most likely as well.

That was how life worked. It was a half century back. No emails, no jpgs, no computers in wide use even.
