The cachet you illustrate is not a slogan. It just reads Embassy of the Hungarian People's Republic in Berlin.

The slogan, cancelling the stamps, is for the Leipzig Spring Fair.

Cheers,

Thanks for the info. honza. The date is still pretty significant!

I recently made a trip to one of the libraries in the Lake Macquarie Library System,
and scanned most of the covers I received during the last couple of weeks.
I e-mail the scans to myself, so I can only view the results when I get home and access my
e-mails, by which time it's too late to adjust covers that weren't well aligned on the scanner.
Apologies for the fact that several are clearly askew.

I will share them with you over the next few posts, beginning with this cover from the Sheriff

Received the following cover from Puffin.
Cover Australia to Netherlands 08-07
Cover Australia to Netherlands 08-07
It tells an interesting story. PostNL put an extra address sticker over the (correct) address that Puffin wrote. Then somehow they removed half of that sticker, the other half remains as you can see. But by removing it they tore off my house number so PostNL was unable to deliver the cover.

I guess there was one machine (or employee) who was paying attention and found the correct house number with my name and postal code so he stuck another sticker on the cover. (above the stamp). Then a third sticker was applied stating it could be deliver now. That's the sticker on the left side.
20220727_163547.jpg
The box that was ticked says "herstel aan geadresseerde" which translates as "restore to recipient"

So a normal cover just turned into something with a nice postal tale.

Thank you PostNL :D

Nice cover Chanada :D Not a world record, but "right up there" ;)

I decided to search for an image showing a full view of those stamps.
It turns out to be not quite straightforward, because there are two other "Georgias" that show up
more frequently on eBay — the state of Georgia in USA, and the South Atlantic island (British Overseas Territory) South Georgia — population 32 (summer), 16 (winter), a prolific stamp issuer for that many
"real" users!

In contrast, the Republic of Georgia is a nation at the eastern end of the Black Sea.
Its population is more than 3.7 million, and its area is very nearly 70,000 sq.km.

The stamps used on Chanada's cover:
Republic of Georgia, 2005: Europa stamp set, celebrating 50 years of<br />CEPT = European Telecommunication Office
Republic of Georgia, 2005: Europa stamp set, celebrating 50 years of
CEPT = European Telecommunication Office
.
Currency: 100 tetri = 1 lari. The Georgian lari is designated GEL in foreign exchange contexts.
My count: the cover is franked with 45 of the CEPT commemorative 40 tetri stamps, plus one 20 tetri and two 80 tetri stamps, for a total of 19.80 lari. That's something of the order of USD 7.00 or CAD 9.00 or AUD 10.00 or GBP 5.75.

I can't resist showing this nice 2021 minisheet, just to share a further view of the stamps currently being issued by Republic of Georgia:

Republic of Georgia, 2021: Europa issue, Endangered species minisheet

Canadian cover sent from New Hamburg, ON to Cambridge, ON with round cancel. I had wanted to get a pictorial postmark with the waterwheel (historic feature and local landmark) but looks like they no longer have it. The postal lady on duty said she started this year and had never seen it (and was thinking of designing one with the waterwheel!) so may have been discontinued for some time now. (at least a year...). I told her I would be back to get the pictorial one after she designed one. ;P Still an interesting postmark as I rarely see the round ones these days.

Cover sent from New Hamburg, ON to Cambridge, ON with round cancel showing only town name and postal outlet ID number.
