It will not be limited to some formal Olympic reference - the Olympic rings or a dedicated text in the stamps, and would embrace a wider spectrum of stamps and mini / souvenir sheets - identified Olympians in otherwise non-Olympic stamps, Olympic art competitors, Olympic venues, and a number of other sub-themes not cover in conventional Olympic catalogues (that DO exist).
The first volume of the catalogue (Australia and Oceania) is ready. At the moment, I am working on the European volume that seems to be one of the largest (by continents), due to the Royals with Olympic reference.
In the process of compiling the catalogue, I search for decent images of stamp - naturally, I so not have a collection of ALL Olympic-related issued (the more that I am constantly finding new issues that I would have never thought of as Olympic ).
The main sources are those that are free in the internet, including internet auctions (Delcampe, ebay, etc.).
Unfortunately, not all issues can be found in the accessible resources, or they are available in poor quality.
I would like to ask the Stampboarders for help with scans (if someone happens to have them and is ready to provide them, with a permission to use in my NON-commercial catalogues).
I would highly appreciate if you post the required scans (I will be continuously updating the list) here and / or send to my email.
I will start with the two issues that I failed to find in the Internet completely due to a very limited number of copies issued.
In 1952 and 1956, the Postal administration of Saar that was under the French rule at that period, issued Olympic sets - two stamps for each year.
The stamps were accompanied by a limited number of so-called ministerial blocks, of the usual French type - 150 pieces in 1952 and 200 - in 1956.
I hope somebody here, in the stampboards has any / all of them, and can share scans?
