Mowbray Collectables' 19 March public coin & banknote auction

Mowbray Collectables, New Zealand’s largest coin and stamp auction house will hold their next public auction of coins banknotes and medals on Tuesday 19 March 2024 at the West Plaza Hotel, in central Wellington, New Zealand, commencing at 12 noon NZDST (GMT+ 13 hours).

There are almost 600 lots with total estimates just under NZ $500,000 and include good New Zealand, Australian and overseas coins, medals, and banknotes.

The auction includes the following lots and their estimates:

4 New Zealand medal, 1861/6 one of only 9 issued, VF. NZ $ 4,000
288 Egypt ca 247BC gold Oktadrachm, gVF. NZ $14,000
381 New Zealand 1935 proof coin set including Waitangi crown. NZ $18,000
445 Australia 1864 City Bank of Sydney £1 banknote, aF. NZ $12,500
452 China 1907 Ta-Ching Government Bank $1 banknote. NZ $5,000
523 New Zealand 1934 £50 Lefeaux banknote, aF. NZ $20,000
