Puffin, I'm seriously worried about you. In your constant search for post boxes, you didn't happen to land in Nimbin did you? (For those who don't know Nimbin is the capital of marijuana in Australia.)

Never been there. No need to as I am a non-smoker. I have been to Murwillumbah and climbed Mount Warning.

Also been there, done that. The view from the top and many other places around the edge of the massive volcano, dating back 80 million years- Mount Warning is the remains of the Central plug- is simply spectacular. Also on the edge of the caldera, in the Border Ranges National Park, are examples of Antarctic Beech that haven't produced seedlings for at least 6000 years.

So, you don't smoke. Maybe you eat cookies which I'm assured do the job. Where do you get your happy tablets from?

P.S. I still like the sentiment, however unrealistic, and will shut up now.

Mt Warning is reputed to be the first place in mainland Australia to see the sun rise. This makes a Mount Warning climb very popular on the 1st of January each year, as a significant way to welcome in the New Year (NB the sign on the platform at the top says that only in winter is Mount Warning the first to get the sunrise and that Cape Howe is the first in summer).

I'm glad you have started this topic as there is enough bad news and nastiness in the world today we need more good news.

My good news is I've just bought my own first car, ALL MINE! I've always had dads car, husband or family car but never my own.

I must admit it was a bit traumatic as I didn't want the dealers seeing me coming, you know the deal, dumb woman see what we can sell her. I did the rounds of car sales yards with all the dealers trying to pull you in, I got out very fast.

Right internet searches found my car at Ford Chullora with Dave who was so lovely and just answered any questions I had, no hard sell. It was $16,880 but I had $15,500 in my handbag would he accept that? His manager did and it was mine.

It's not even 1 year old yet and had 4000km on the clock a 2017 Ford Fiesta Sport.

I'm a happy little vegemite!

I got a cheque in the mail for stamps I'd sold via Club packet.

I picked up a few nice postmarks from another Circulation booklet ( Cheap!)

I sold an item on ebay that I've been trying to sell for months

I remember when it appeared (1963-67) I had started a theme collection of Volcanoes.
There is a protective programme studying the island to see the progress of " Invasion" by plants ,Insects and bird life on a virgin barren rock. I note Puffin's picture shows it is quite green now

I want a dog!

But I've just been adopted by 2 black cats and I'm a bit angry as to why they are strays.

The lady across the road passed away two years ago so the house has been empty for that long except for now they have sold it and renovating. They pulled down the garage so I presume these poor things were living in there. I'm annoyed that none of her children rescued her cats, if I'd have known I would have adopted them instead they have adopted me.

I have two cats already who never go out so will see how these two settle, they are so skinny, just skin and bones and very timid but I'm winning them over with chicken, they are getting closer.

Five weeks without any rain , grass which is normally lush & green is looking parched.

My grass cutting rounds, which should take 4 days per 2 weeks, are done in next to no time
