How interesting that skystamps1010 Tasmania Fake and "Genuine" <cof> 1d Blues on Ebay have the same cancellation. How can that be?

Can people please watch the Sydney Forger over the holiday break, and add links and pictures, as no doubt he will be faking, forging, grifting and shilling hard at Christmas time.

Hi Guys, (lolks and others)

can I please have your opinion on this listing:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313718541529

The seller has 100% positive feedback, but only has 1 feedback (!) (With a spelling mistake to boot).
Has only been a member since May 2021 so just wondering if this could be a new account by the forger you mention in this thread?

The font of the VICTORIA LAND seems to be slightly sloping, and the V seems a little too far to the right, so just want to double-check this item is ok - what do you think?

Your FIRST post must be in ROLL CALL please. And you MUST add an image in such cases -

s-l1600ff.jpg

This 1 feedback seller stampsgalore_8 from the aptly named DECEPTION BAY location, has many fakes in his listings - the Victoria Land are appalling that you show. This cretin stampsgalore_8 has used a machine cancelled halfpenny (not possible on VICTORIA LAND) and likely the wrong watermark,

https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/stampsgalore_8/m.html?_trksid=p3692

Both his 1958 2d ''Stars'' errors are also fakes.

Please report him to ebay. His 1 feedback career might be as far as he progresses.

He has added a very modern 5/- Mt Cook Taiwan laser printer, printed onto a white Scott towel, into this set he is asking $400 for - worth maybe $100 for the genuine stamps there.

The VICTORIA LAND opts are as real as a three-dollar bill.

Andrey Mironov, who is the author of the Ross Dependency Postage Stamps Illustrated Catalogue (entered into NZ 2020 Exhibition), is onto these and says they are FAKE also. His FB page:

"Someone" sent him a helpful message, using a burner account :

"These overprints are obvious fakes. And claiming that the stamps are "very fine", when the red one has an enormous crease across it, just makes you look like either a liar or a dimwit. Several of your other listings are also obvious forgeries. You will not last long on Ebay if you try to deceive buyers with this kind of garbage."

Sometimes the direct approach works ...

Appears that the Sydney forger has again changed his eBay user name,

now looks to be, bottlejfb ( 0), zero feedback

Based in Australia, bottlejfb has been an eBay member since 07 Dec, 2021

Only 5 items at this point in time, but includes his terrible O.S. overprints on South Australian stamps, likely more to follow !

As per usual, largely out of focus scans with the items.

This is a private listing and your identity will not be disclosed to anyone except the seller.

It looks like Nassar has switched to this very new account bottlejfb to replace ID ozstampcollect (previously stamptre_548) which appears to be NARU as of today. An item listed by that ID which I saved in My Ebay has vanished, and when I called up his Sold Items list, even the most recent one sold yesterday now generates the usual Ebay error message saying "We looked everywhere..."

The feedback list for ID centrestamps_6 suggests that it has been in use for over 6 months ; odd that no-one here spotted it until now.

Fleurieu55 has a really excellent eye for spotting our faker's new accounts, but I am not at all convinced centrestamps_6 is our man. :?:

https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/centrestamps_6/m.html?item=38465 ... 3561.l2562

Certainly a few likely looking forged lots but most seem kosher -

https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/m.html?item=384655382664&LH_Comp ... _6&_sop=16

These have a whiff of our spiv - and he does NOT leave feedback and he DOES use the spiv favourite, Private Auctions, so hmmmmmmm ....................

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Australia-Pals-Label-of-Admiral- ... 7675.l2557

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Zealand-Mint-Collection-incl ... 7675.l2557

"New Zealand Mint Collection incl 1958 2d Brown pair with Error Star" - sold for just $75 -- WHY does he bother??

MOST astute. There is ZERO good reason to do it for stamps, unless seller has something to hide.

Near always the hallmark of a forger or dubious seller etc. :!: :!:

I sent a message to the security team on 29 December, pointing out that two of the items in the sold items list for ID skystamps1010 are clearly the same stamp, re-sold after a shill purchase by his hidden id t***- . A child could see the similarities ; but unfortunately, the Ebay minions seem unable - or very slow - to do so.

I have also reminded the assistant to Mr Ramadge (MD of Ebay Australia) that he gave me an assurance to get his specialists to look at all of this, over a month ago. To be fair, that might have been what triggered the NARU of ID ozstampcollect, who was using the same address as his previously banned ID ocean-5002.

Forger IDs premiumequ-88 and stampomtrad are back, after being dormant for several months. All the usual fake postmarks, overprints, etc.

Can anyone link them to previously purchased items in a different form?

His "feedback as a buyer" list also suggests that banned ID windsor_60_6 may have used this ID as a shill bidder. Eight items have feedback saying "buyer did not pay for 4 weeks". Perhaps this was so he could ask Ebay to cancel the shill sales and recover his seller fees.

The NSW Police are gathering evidence about the forger George Nassar and family and associates, and are interested in hearing from anyone who lost money as a result of buying his faked stamps.

If anyone here can help, please send me a private message and I will pass on the investigating Detective's contact details.

It appears that the Sydney forger now is going by a new eBay handle, globalstamps1, with a 58 feed back already.

When searching his other items, they appear under one of his more recent handles, centrestamps_6 (58) feedback!!

Yes, confirmed that serial counterfeiter George Nassar - the Sydney stamp forger - has yet again rebranded himself. An item which I had saved from user ID centrestamps_6 is now showing the username globalstamps1 with the feedback carried across. The Ebay user homepage inexplicably no longer shows an icon or message to warn buyers that a seller recently changed his ID.

He has also recently listed a couple of items under his new ID bottlejfb, which had been dormant for several weeks, including another of these wonky forged overprints :

Hurrah - someone managed to get a negative feedback onto the skystamps1010 account which Nassar was unable (yet) to have removed. The feedback is private as from today - which means he can't sell from that account. No surprise then to find that his other ID bottlejfb is now full of his typical forgeries.

These two mint NWPI items (cheap as chips without the OS perfin), expensive with, appear in a private listing with a current feedback of 3. Interestingly one feedback is positive whilst saying 'item not as described'.

The Sydney forger is well known to forge the NWPI OS punctures as appears with the poor efforts here. The angle of the photo is, I am sure, meant to deceive

I feel sure the dud Roo photocopy top row from centrestamps was offered stand alone by another banned account -

Might be a way to get another account whacked?
Thank for reading - doc

Yes, bottlejfb is already a known George Nassar forger account - see Fleurieu55's post a few weeks ago. Every listing is a typical Nassar forgery.

As usual, he has appealed the negative feedback on his skystamps1010 account, and the gutless Ebay minions have allowed him to do it ; the feedback is now switched back to public. I'm taking this up with the Aussie CEO's office.

Interesting to note that some of Nassar's NWPI OS forgeries were actually offered for sale by Classicphil, the prestigious Vienna auction house. They didn't sell.

More rubbish being churned out with fake departmental overprints, oh, and the 1/- chestnut O.S. as well.

The goose doesn't even know which stamps to forge correctly, no red overprint exists on a 6d value, let alone an earlier 6d roulette.

What a KLUTZ.

Is anyone else reporting his counterfeit listings to Ebay? The more people send the same alerts, the more likely Ebay are to take notice. Preferably, send them direct to customer services, not via the useless "Report a seller" tool which they have always ignored.

I agree the 'Report a seller' tool is useless. I am forever reporting sellers of used French stamps with all sorts of fabricated WWII overprints without anything apparently being done. No one enforces the rule that reproductions must be marked on the back.

Can you kindly advise how you report to Customer Services. I can't seem to find the link.
Thanks.

There are two reasonably simple ways to make a detailed report :

1. Click on the Help & Contact tab at the top of the Ebay screen. This takes you to a How can we help you? page. Type in "counterfeit" - the menu will automatically show Counterfeit item policy as the top option. After clicking on that link, scroll down to the bottom of the page to the Need more help? heading. That should show an option Contact us. Clicking that will open a chat window, where you can enter "agent" to make the system bypass the FAQs and automated responses. Provided you are doing this during their working hours, the system will offer you a phone call from an Ebay agent, or the chance to chat with an agent. Either option puts you in contact with a live person so you can explain your concerns. Note that the chat system initially offers a 1500 character window to explain the issue, but all the later chat windows have a hidden character limit of only 250. So if you need to say a lot, it helps to pre-prepare your text and do a character count to make sure it will fit, or break it up into suitable chunks.

The agents are only low-level minions who will need to send a report to a specialist ; they don't have the power to cancel a listing. But it gives you the chance to explain in detail why you are making a report, instead of only having 100 characters in the Report an item tool.

2. Alternatively, to send a detailed report without live interaction, again click on the Help & Contact tab at the top of the screen, and enter "report". That will automatically show a blue Report a seller clickable link. On the next page, tick the 5th option - The seller has violated one of Ebay's policies - and Continue. On the next page, enter the seller's username and tick the 6th option - Other. There is a 1000-character box to explain your concerns. Always give the item number ; or if there are many listings involved, give a few item numbers as examples. Just saying "This seller has listed lots of fake stamps" won't get any response, because the agent won't know which you mean.

BTW - on Ebay UK and USA, the Stamps Policy no longer requires sellers to mark counterfeit stamps on the back. The rules were watered down several years ago, and now only require a seller to SAY in his title, photo and description that the item is a forgery/replica. Thus there is no way to prevent fraudulent re-sale of a replica as genuine, which was the original purpose of the indelible mark. Interestingly, Ebay Germany does still have the requirement for marks.

Hope this helps,
ROB
