Generating a QR code to link to a thread.

Post by Allanswood »

It's an internet thing, not an SB thing but...

I was just playing with my desktop and right clicked the mouse - never noticed that there is a "generate QR code for this page" menu option.

So clicked it and this is the result:
QR code link to the typing fractions thread.
QR code link to the typing fractions thread.

The QR code takes you to the page within a thread that you wish to show. :D
I just took a screen shot. but the QR code image can be downloaded.

Try it and see if it takes you there.

Are you trying it while looking at a web page? I use it with Chrome and Win10 and also Win7 and both have it on right click.

Ahh, it might be a Chrome thing as Edge doesn't show it.

Just a tip for anyone that wants to generate a Chrome QR code on a Mac, you must add a QR Code Extension to your Chrome browser.

When in Google Chrome, please type in the Google Search: The QR Code Extension. You will be taken to a page that allows you to add the QR Code. Add to Chrome.

Once it's added to Chrome, when you Control and click on a link it will give you several options and one of them will be: QR Code Genarator. Select it and your first option will generate a QR Code for the link that you have chosen. :)

If there are any questions, please post them here.

Thank you! :)

It recently appeared in Chrome.

There is also a "Generate a QR code for this image" option if you're hovering over a picture at the time.

I'm struggling to think of a use for it, but I'm not exactly Mr IT.
