Here is information about the charity auction lot - it sold for 156,000 euros.

Translated via Google Translate

At a charity auction from Prozorro.Sales, the stamp with the ship was sold for UAH 5 million!

This means that today our army has received a considerable amount of aid. In the end, thanks to the exploits of the Armed Forces, the stamp gained such popularity and was able to raise millions 🇺🇦

Thank you to the participants of the auction and especially to the winner who fought for the autographed set to the last. These efforts were not in vain 💪

Here is the official statement of CEO of Ukrposhta , sorri for translation he via Google translator

Dear customers!
As of now, DDOS is still going on - an attack on our systems. And although we have already been able to partially restore them, this does not allow us to run the online store in a stable mode. Therefore, so that everyone can calmly prepare for the holidays, and we have done our job to the end, today the online store will not work.
We will announce the resumption of work in advance. So that everyone can prepare. Today, before the Internet attack, about 9,500 customers were able to place their orders. And they are already preparing to send. That is, we will be able to accept another 7,000 orders after the resumption of work.
But I understand that everyone wants to get a brand. I think we have found a solution how to do it. Approximately at 18:00 - 18:30 we will announce here and at https://t.me/igorsmelyansky
Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience and ask not to wait long!
Thank you all!

Well, here's the second issue of the ship wreck stamp. The circulation of stamps is 5 million copies, and the number of envelopes is 1 million.

Anyone who has a desire to buy and might have complications with the purchase can write, and I hope I can help.

It would be interesting to see one of these stamps used on a letter to Russia or Belorussia.

Though I don't expect there is a mail service between Ukraine and Russia, but there might be some transiting through Poland?

The East Germans made a point of obliterating stamps of West Germany that had themes or designs that offended their sensibilities. They didn't like this one about Prisoners of War. This period of censorship is called Postkrieg in German (postal war).

These stamps, like any other stamps after February 25, cannot be seen on shipments to the Russian Federation and Belarus, due to the suspension of postal exchange.
There can be no transit exchange through Poland either, because there is also a postal exchange stopping there. Yes, and such is not provided for in the postal rules at all.
As for the mashing stamps and other things, I had a case when in Russia , the Crimea peninsula was torn from Ukraine on a postage stamp "Glory to Ukraine"

Systems often crash if too much demand is put on them as was likely in this case- presumably they could tell that it was malicious in this case!

From the statement of Ukrposhta CEO posted on Facebook

In order not to distract your attention during the day, I will immediately answer questions about the stamp with the Patron. In an interview with Forbes, I pointed out that this is one of the ideas, among others, such as the stamp dedicated to the Armed Forces (Heroes of Glory), "Good evening, we are from Ukraine", "Red Viburnum", "Putin - Kremlin", etc. .п. It is up to you, the citizens of Ukraine, to decide which stamp will be next, and we will soon launch an online vote on this issue. I myself am very interested in the results.

And tonight we will announce the launch of another stamp that was prepared before the war and I'm sure, given the circumstances, she will also find her fans.

Most Ukraine commemorative have print runs of 130,000, so the quantity is not that small.

Probably will be like Austria's Brexit stamp and within a few months the excitement over the issue will fade and prices will come back to more normal range.

Would not surprise if Ukrposhta reprinted the stamp after initial release when they saw the demand.

The second, third and other additional print runs will not be printed. And as for print runs, they are printed so that stamps do not lie on the shelves for years, but everything depends on the subject of the printed stamps. There is a circulation that varies in a month or two months, and there is a six-month period.

Just saw these on Delcampe which are claimed to be produced by Peterspost.

"We deliver international and domestic correspondence
Peterspost is a postal and courier service operating on domestic Russian and foreign delivery lines. Accurately, within a reasonable time, at moderate rates.
Peterspost provides postal services throughout the Russian Federation on the basis of a license from the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media No. 157035 dated July 20, 2017"

It would seem a bit surprising if these are really available in Russia!

Ukraine iconic warship stamp - charity auction

Post by SallyBalticHolidays »

Hello, we are auctioning ONE of the special edition Ukraine Postal Service iconic stamp of the 'Russian warship...go f*** yourself' to raise as much money as possible to buy food and medical supplies to take to Ukraine. It was bought in Lviv post office and brought back to Krakow by our colleague who is a Krakow city councillor and activist. Today he is in Odesa delivering 7.5 tonnes of food and essential aid, on the way they delivered an urgently needed hospital trolley to Lviv maternity hospital - money raised from this stamp auction goes to grassroots aid to Ukraine!

We are looking for generous stamp collectors, philanthropists and all-round good people to bid for the stamp! You can see the auction here, many thanks, Sally (Baltic Holidays)

I think that DJCMH is justified in believing it to be odd that Ukraine uses western characters to identify postage rates now.

IN 1992 and later many letters of the Ukrainian alphabet were used with - as far as I know - no problem internationally, including letters not in the western alphabet.
Ukraine PSE with stamp denominated Д plus adhesives, 2001
Ukraine PSE with stamp denominated Д plus adhesives, 2001
1994 large envelope, Ukraine to England with variety of A, Д and 200 denominated stamps
1994 large envelope, Ukraine to England with variety of A, Д and 200 denominated stamps

That is not to say that there is anything wrong in the practice, just interesting or unusual (=strange).

Sally - a great cause that most of us support, however you are a month too late on this sadly.

Readily buyable for $30 or so now, and the price is now dropping each day due to oversupply.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/394054013211

We have firm rules here re selling things and sadly you do not qualify - by a long way -

https://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=1338

The 'auction' appears not to be transparent in any way, so folks might care to donate directly.

I am not up to speed with the rules on NVI indicators, but I suppose on reflection it would make sense for them to be internationally recognisable to allow calculation of postage due. (Although do the old UPU rules on international postage due still apply? In my experience it seems that underpaid items get diverted back to the sender in the country of origin, and if they make it to the destination country then they don't get surcharged.

In general, the postal operator of the country of receipt of the shipment can do two things , this is to return to the sender, then receive funds if the small offset.

Or send to the recipient with a note that the recipient must pay extra. And as for the stamps themselves, all postal operators give samples of stamps to all postal operators .

It's a long time since I've seen any new postage due from international mail. British mail is not diverted back to the sender because we don't have the habit of putting the return address on the envelope.
